About me and my therapy practice

I offer a calm, reflective, and relational space for adults who want to better understand patterns that feel overwhelming, confusing, or hard to shift.

My core philosophy is that we experience wellbeing across three interconnected dimensions: body, mind, and environment. Each influences the others, sometimes in supportive ways and sometimes in ways that increase strain. When one area becomes overloaded or unsafe, this can show up as anxiety, emotional shutdown, impulsive behaviour, or a sense of being stuck.

I understand these patterns not as personal failures, but as meaningful responses shaped by lived experience. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and begin to respond with greater awareness and choice.

Wellbeing, in my view, begins with awareness — and awareness begins with safety.

My approach is integrative, trauma-aware, and carefully paced. I prioritise creating a therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe enough to notice what is happening within you, rather than having to manage or suppress it.

At times, we may pay attention to how stress or dysregulation is held in the body — such as tension, restlessness, numbness, or exhaustion. Where appropriate, I may suggest simple grounding or stabilising approaches to support safety in the moment. These are not used as solutions in themselves, but to help restore enough steadiness for deeper exploration to take place.

The focus of the work remains on understanding emotional responses, relational patterns, and the meanings that have shaped how you relate to yourself and the world around you.

Practice description

What You Can Expect

A non-judgemental space where behaviours are understood as signals, not problems to be fixed

Careful attention to safety, consent, and pacing

Exploration of emotional, relational, and embodied experience

Respect for the adaptations that once helped you cope

Clear therapeutic boundaries — counselling is not skills training or performance-based work

Clients often value the sense of steadiness, curiosity, and depth this way of working offers.

Who I Work With

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including:

Anxiety and chronic stress

Emotional overwhelm or shutdown

Shame, self-criticism, or feelings of inadequacy

Repeating patterns that feel hard to understand or change

The impact of prolonged stress or early relational experiences

Feeling out of sync with work, relationships, or everyday demands

You do not need to have a clear explanation for what you are experiencing. We can begin by noticing what feels most present for you.

Fees

Online sessions: £60

In-person sessions (Glasgow City Centre): £70

(This reflects associated additional costs such as room hire.)

My first session

I offer a free, online initial session to explore what brings you to therapy at this time, your strengths and preferences, and what you would like to gain from the process.

This first meeting is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions, get a sense of how I work, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

We will also talk briefly about practicalities such as confidentiality, boundaries, and how sessions are structured.

There is no obligation to continue beyond this session.
