About me and my therapy practice
I am a Relate-trained counsellor with experience of bereavement and all kinds of issues connected with relationships, whether that's with a partner, a family member, friends, or colleague. I have a private practice in Worthing (parking available and near train station) and I also see individuals and couples from across the UK online via zoom or telephone. I work in a warm and professional way with all my clients and welcome any client of any diverse background, gender or sexuality.
Many people seek relationship therapy if they feel their relationship has hit a crisis. They may notice they are repeating patterns of conflict or disconnected from each other. Breakdown of communication can lead people to feel alone and unable to reach out to their partner. Many clients bring a history of bereavement, loss and trauma and this impact of grief can place incredible strain on relationships. Individuals may seek counselling to find out what’s gone wrong at the end of a relationship or seek some understanding of what they need from a relationship.
I offer a safe and non-judgemental space to explore the problems you are facing. I listen to individuals or couples without taking sides, encourage communication and help people express their difficulties. We can explore the familiar negative patterns and recognise the triggers that can lead to conflict or withdrawal. I notice in my work that just by clients understanding why they and their partners are triggered they are more willing to look for a more compassionate way to communicate, subtle adjustments can make a huge difference in the satisfaction of the relationship.
