About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person‑Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Aberdeen. Alongside my clinical work, I am Programme Director at the University of Aberdeen, where I am involved in the training of person‑centred therapists.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and the effects of trauma. A key focus of my work is supporting neurodivergent adults, including those who may feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or exhausted by having to adapt to expectations that don’t fit how they naturally think and experience the world.
I have a particular interest in how language, culture, and identity shape our emotional lives, and I have researched bilingualism in therapy. I am trained in working with interpreters and have experience supporting bilingual and multilingual clients. I also have experience working with people affected by boarding school experiences, including former boarders and their partners or family members.
As a bilingual speaker myself, I can offer sessions in English or Italian. Sessions are available online or in person and can be short‑ or long‑term, depending on your needs and circumstances.
As a trained outdoor therapy practitioner, I can also offer outdoor sessions during the warmer months.
Practice description
I offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore whatever may be holding you back or causing distress in your life. Working in a person‑centred way means that our work is guided by you at a pace and depth that feels right for you.
My aim is to support you in exploring your experiences and life journey within a therapeutic relationship that feels genuine, respectful, and trusting. Research shows that this kind of relationship is central to meaningful and lasting change, and person‑centred therapy is intended to support long‑term growth rather than quick fixes.
You might be considering therapy if you recognise yourself in some of the experiences below:
• feeling constantly under pressure, restless, or unable to relax
• feeling misunderstood or at a loss in your relationships
• struggles with addiction or compulsive behaviours
• the lasting impact of attending boarding school
• living in a country different from the one you were born in and finding it hard to adjust
• anxiety that limits your choices or affects your confidence
• fears of being seen as a failure or feeling undeserving of happiness
• persistent low mood, exhaustion, or difficulty carrying on
• coping with loss, grief, or significant life changes
If any of these resonate with you, or if there is something else you would like to explore, therapy with me may be helpful.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you a counsellor or psychotherapist seeking supervision that prioritises your growth, self‑awareness, and wellbeing alongside ethical and effective practice?
I offer individual counselling supervision grounded in the Person‑Centred Approach, providing a supportive, empathic, and non‑judgemental space in which to reflect on your work and professional development.
Central to my supervision practice is the development of a trusting and collaborative relationship. Supervision with me offers space to:
• reflect thoughtfully on your client work and therapeutic relationships
• explore your emotional responses, process dynamics, and use of self in practice
• consider ethical questions, professional dilemmas, and areas of uncertainty
• attend to your wellbeing, sustainability, and development as a practitioner
I work with both trainee and experienced practitioners. Supervision is shaped around your individual learning needs, professional context, and stage of development, with the aim of supporting reflective practice, self‑awareness, and high standards of client care.
Practice description
My supervision practice is primarily informed by the Tudor and Worrall Person‑Centred model of supervision. I also draw thoughtfully on other supervision models where this feels supportive and appropriate, bringing flexibility and responsiveness to our work together. Alongside my clinical experience, I bring a strong commitment to the person‑centred approach and a sense of humour where it feels helpful and human.
My aim is to support you not only in the therapist–client process, but also in the wider realities of professional life. This can include accompanying you from your earliest training experiences, through developing policies and preparing for private practice, and continuing alongside you as your work becomes more established.
As someone who works in academia, I value ongoing learning and staying engaged with current research in counselling and psychotherapy. I bring this developing knowledge into supervision in a reflective and grounded way, in service of practice rather than theory alone.
I am an accredited Diploma‑level trainer with COSCA and hold Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), which enables me to offer training supervision for counselling trainers.
I also have extensive experience as a tutor on postgraduate Person‑Centred counselling programmes and undergraduate counselling skills training. This gives me a strong understanding of the challenges and demands of professional training, and I am happy to offer supervision to trainees at a reduced rate.
