About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Humanistic, Psychodynamic & Somatic Psychotherapist & CranioSacral Therapist - with 20 years of clinical experience working in private practise, the NHS and the voluntary sector. I offer both long and short term talking therapy with somatic and embodiment awareness - and the option to combine talking therapy with Biodynamic body work for a fully integrated somatic approach. I am a trauma informed therapist with a diploma in Anatomy, Pathology and Physiology and a deep understanding of neurological and physiological feedback loops that co-create mental and physical ill health presentations.
As a somatic psychotherapist I work with a broad range of presentations and clients. My awareness of the body does not exclude a psychological focus. The two are integrated and inseparable in my rationale. Manifestations of burnout, avoidance, social disconnection, anxiety, depression, ocd, addiction, relationship failures, suicidality and physical presentations such as CFS, Long Covid and other dysautonomias, are all common presentations in my room. But it can also be a simple but pervasive sense of dis-ease. A sense of not being connected to yourself, others, your life actions or forward path that brings you to my door.
My psychotherapeutic work is fundamentally relational, but my grounding principle is to understand each client from a holistic bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective.
Being an integrative therapist allows me to work in a number of different and dynamic ways according to your needs. This is a dynamic form of therapy that will take you to depth.
I work with a broad base of clients and this includes ADHD & Autistic people & those with other Neurodiversity's who often have correlated mental and physical health presentations.
This is deep compassionate work leading to radical acceptance and authenticity.
Practice description
I work in a quiet, comfortable practise a five minute walk from Clapham Junction station. The area is well served by both buses and trains and the shops and cafes of Northcote Road.
My first session
We will arrange to have an introductory phone call so that you can gauge whether you would like to try a session with me.
In our first paid session we will go deeper in to your presenting issue, hopes and expectations and get a sense of how it might feel to work with me.
After that you can decide whether to commit to long or short term work.
