About me and my therapy practice
About Me
With a deep passion for helping others, I am a qualified counsellor dedicated to guiding clients through life's challenges with empathy, respect, and professionalism. My practice is shaped by my belief that everyone has the capacity for positive change.
Experience & Qualifications
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of Edinburgh and a post-graduate certificate in counselling children and young people from the University of Strathclyde and have worked in diverse settings including schools, the NHS, a university counselling service and private practice. I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´ and am committed to ongoing professional development. I have completed further training in bereavement and loss, sandtray therapy, creative therapy methods and working with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma, among others.
Let’s Work Together
My aim is to accompany you on your journey of self-discovery, offering support and an empathic non-judgemental space in which you can explore and gain a greater understanding of yourself. If you’re ready to take the next step or have questions about counselling, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free, no obligation 20 minute phone or videocall consultation to allow you to see if we are a good fit.
If we decide that we would like to work together, sessions last 50 minutes and cost £50. Concessionary rates are available for those who are unemployed/on a low income. I offer face to face and online sessions.
Practice description
My Approach
I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to share their thoughts and feelings. By using evidence-based techniques such as person-centred therapy and psychodynamic therapy, I hope to help you gain a greater understanding of yourself and others. Counselling is not advice giving, but rather a supportive, facilitative environment in which you explore your inner world without judgement.
Areas of Specialisation
• Anxiety & Work/Academic Stress
• Counselling for Young People
• Grief & Loss
• Trauma Informed approach for those who have experienced sexual abuse
• Life Transitions: Supporting clients through major changes, from career shifts to retirement.
My first session
Life can be extremely hectic and difficult at times, and it can be hard to know where to find affordable support. How will I know if the therapy is working? How will I know if a therapist is the right fit for me? Is it possible to find therapeutic support that fits my budget and lifestyle?
These are questions that are natural to have as you embark on a new therapeutic journey. This is one of the reasons why I offer a free no obligation 20 minute telephone/videocall consultation to allow you to see if we are a good fit.
