About me and my therapy practice

I offer a confidential, carefully held therapeutic space where you can think, reflect and speak openly, without judgement or pressure. Therapy with me is grounded in respect for your autonomy, your pace and your individual life experience.

I am a counsellor, working from the understanding that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to provide highly attentive, thoughtful support, helping you develop deeper insight into your experiences, patterns and emotional responses, so that meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.

Alongside professional training, I bring a lived understanding of complex life experiences, including trauma and abuse. This informs my work with depth and sensitivity, while I remain mindful that every person’s story is unique. I approach each therapeutic relationship with humility, discretion and genuine curiosity.

My approach is not formulaic or prescriptive. Instead, therapy is carefully tailored to you, your history, your current challenges, your internal resources, and your goals. I work relationally and collaboratively, focusing on depth, clarity and sustainable psychological change rather than short-term symptom management alone.

I work with adults and young people (18 years and over) from a wide range of professional, personal and cultural backgrounds. I understand how relationships, family systems, social expectations and life events can shape identity, confidence and emotional wellbeing. I aim to provide a space where these experiences can be explored safely, thoughtfully and without judgement.

Therapy can at times be demanding work, but it can also bring clarity, relief and a stronger sense of self. I offer a consistent, professional and compassionate environment where this work can unfold safely.

If you choose to work with me, you can expect warmth, integrity, discretion and a high standard of professional care. Whatever brings you to therapy, you will be supported with respect and care throughout the process.

Practice description

My practice offers a calm, confidential and professionally held therapeutic environment where you can step back from daily pressures and focus fully on your psychological wellbeing.

I work from a dedicated therapy space in Chinnor and also offer online therapy. The setting itself is intentionally quiet and private. Many clients comment that the approach to the therapy room, set within a natural environment, can help create a sense of transition from the outside world into a space for reflection. This is simply part of the setting; therapy itself remains grounded, focused and professionally contained.

My work is based on the belief that you hold the capacity for understanding, change and growth. Therapy with me is an active, collaborative process. You can expect careful listening, thoughtful reflection and, where appropriate, gentle and respectful challenge. I aim to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and your internal patterns, supporting change that is meaningful and sustainable.

Clients often come to me to better understand themselves, work through trauma or difficult life experiences, manage complex relationships, or navigate periods of transition or high pressure. Our work may involve exploring past experiences, understanding present challenges and developing clarity about the future, always at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

I place strong importance on consistency, discretion and high professional standards of care. My role is to provide a stable, respectful therapeutic relationship where you can think openly, process safely and move forward with greater clarity, confidence and self-trust.

My first session

Beginning therapy is a significant step, and it is natural to feel a mixture of curiosity, uncertainty, or even nervousness. I recognise the courage it takes to reach out, which is why I offer a complimentary 30-minute online first session. This initial meeting provides a safe, unpressured space to explore whether working together feels right for you.

The first session is entirely focused on you. It is an opportunity to share, at your own pace, what has brought you to therapy and what you hope might change or feel different in your life. You are welcome to ask questions about the therapeutic process, my approach, or any practical considerations that are important to you in deciding how to proceed.

My intention in this session is to listen attentively, understand what matters to you, and begin establishing a sense of safety and trust. I will also outline how therapy works and how we might shape our sessions to reflect your needs, experiences and goals.

There is no expectation to commit to further sessions. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, and you are encouraged to reflect on whether you feel understood, supported and able to work comfortably in this space.

Should we decide to continue, therapy will progress at a pace that is thoughtful, manageable and respectful of your individual circumstances. If we do not continue, you will still have taken a meaningful step towards exploring support and understanding for yourself.

If you feel ready, you are welcome to arrange your 30-minute online complimentary first session. You will be met with professionalism, warmth and careful attention as we begin exploring what support might look like for you.
