About me and my therapy practice

How I Work: An Integrative Approach

Choosing a therapist is a significant step, and finding the right "fit" is essential. As an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach. Human experience is complex, and the way we experience distress is unique to our history, personality, and environment.

A Bespoke Way of Working

My practice is built on the foundation that different people need different things at different times. By using an integrative model, I draw on several core psychological theories to create a way of working that is tailored specifically to you.

• Understanding the "Why": We may look at your past and your early relationships (Psychodynamic) to see how they have shaped your current patterns, beliefs, and ways of relating to others.

• Focusing on the "Who": I provide a non-judgmental, empathetic space (Humanistic) where you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as you discover your own capacity for growth.

• Managing the "How": When life feels overwhelming, we can use practical, "here-and-now" strategies (such as CBT or mindfulness) to help you manage symptoms, build resilience, and find immediate relief.

Practice description

The Therapeutic Relationship

I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in successful therapy. I strive to create a safe, confidential, and collaborative environment where you feel secure enough to explore difficult emotions. We work as a team; you bring the lived experience, and I bring the psychological framework to help make sense of it.

What to Expect

In our initial sessions, we will explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or a general sense of being "stuck," our work together will aim to:

1. Increase Self-Awareness: Understanding your triggers and subconscious patterns.

2. Process Emotions: Safely feeling and moving through difficult or "trapped" feelings.

3. Empower Change: Developing the tools and confidence to make different choices in your life.

My practice is grounded in the Â鶹ԭ´´ Ethical Framework, ensuring that our work together is safe, professional, and conducted with the highest level of integrity.
