About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Laura, an experienced Â鶹Դ´-registered therapist working with individuals online or over the phone.
I offer Person-Centred Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, integrating insights from a range of therapeutic approaches to support you compassionately and non-judgmentally.
I appreciate the uniqueness of each person and their experiences, and I welcome you, in your light and your shadow, whatever journey you have taken to get here.
My approach is humanistic, open-hearted and creative, queer- and trans-affirmative, culturally aware, and grounded in kindness and respect.
I also take a holistic approach. Considering both the body and the mind can be helpful for those whose bodies are a place of anxiety (for those experiencing change, physical illness, or low self-confidence, to name but a few).
Ideas from neuroscience, philosophy, mindfulness, neurolinguistics, and Jungian concepts (like how we experience our dreams) also weave into my practice. I am deeply fascinated by archetypes, mythology, folklore, and our connections to land and place.
Practice description
Person-Centred Therapy
Here, you’ll find a compassionate and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and relationships (with yourself and others). We’ll move at your pace, exploring what’s alive for you in the here and now, as well as your past experiences. Our sessions will support you in nurturing your self-worth, navigating challenges, and building deeper connections.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
IFS is a gentle yet powerful way of exploring the many layers of your inner world. Some parts protect, some carry pain, some hold strong emotions. In IFS sessions, we’ll meet these parts with curiosity and compassion, helping you connect with your calm, wise Self. We'll take the time to notice what your parts are carrying or holding (past or present), and find clarity, strength and empowerment through our work.
What I offer in our work together
I welcome anyone looking for short or long-term sessions, whether you are arriving with a specific situation you’d like to talk through or are looking to better understand yourself or your identity. Drawing from over 3000 hours of client sessions, I have experience supporting people navigating:
- Anxiety, stress, panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety, work-related stress, climate and eco-anxiety
- Depression, feeling sad, burnout, loneliness, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, suicidal thoughts
- Trauma, loss, grief or bereavement, major life transitions
- Relationship difficulties, family issues, affairs, endings, and separation
- Domestic abuse, sexual assault
- Anger, dissociation, perfectionism, jealousy
- Neurodiversity, ADHD, Autism
- Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Chronic illness, pain management, Chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, cancer
- Non-monogamy, queer, LGBTQIA+ experiences (including gender dysphoria), feminism/feminist
- Pregnancy, miscarriage, infertility, fertility, postnatal depression, birth, abortion, baby loss
- Spirituality
