About me and my therapy practice
Hello
Welcome to this space.
Is your anxiety and low mood becoming overwhelming? Are you lying awake at night wondering what tomorrow may bring?
Therapy can help you to strengthen your boundaries, learn how to say no when you really don't want to say yes. It can increase your self-esteem, give you clarity to see another perspective and a way forward. Talking to an independent person with a non-judgemental outlook can be life changing.
Struggling to find time for therapy? Fifty minutes per week online could transform the choices you make going forward, enabling you to identify stressors and incorporate coping strategies.
I spent seven years in a colleague support role, I supported people in situations where they thought change was impossible. By working through their problems, they discovered there was hope and many choices available.
This inspired me to become a therapist, I have used my experience from my previous role and enhanced my skills with extensive training and experience in private practice, where I have supported many clients through life changing challenges.
I would love to be able to support you with your individual needs, working through what is important to you, at your pace, in order to move towards a more manageable place in your mindset.
Practice description
As a person-centred therapist I allow you to lead the discussion and bring what is of value to you. You are the most important person in the counselling environment and I aim to support you by listening and accepting you as you are. My understanding, of your feelings and perspective from your point of view, is how we unravel where you are now and where you want to get too in the future.
This may help you to gain a new sense of empowerment, exploring your emotions can lead to a deep understanding of where they may be coming from. This may help you to discover resources and options that have been evading you in the confusion of your situation.
I will encourage you to see hidden strengths, accept situations that you cannot change, but also identify areas that may be improved with small changes, one step at a time.
My first session
Our first session will be an opportunity to discuss where you are now with your mental health and how your issues are affecting you.
I ask a few questions in the first instance with regard to your health and well being, to ensure we are able to create the supportive professional relationship we need to continue.
It is a safe space for you to ask questions and decide if the connection is right for you.
