About me and my therapy practice

Hello,

I'm an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÂ鶹ԭ´´) with six years of clinical experience. I offer in-person and online therapy in a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

My approach is grounded in a person-centred foundation, recognising that no two people experience life, relationships or difficulties in the same way, accepting you as the individual you are and working collaboratively in a way thats tailored to your needs. To achieve this I work integratively, drawing on Attachment and Trauma theories, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Relational, Somatic, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), bringing together psychological insight and body awareness to support a more holistic approach to healing.

I have six years of clinical experience with four years in private practice helping individuals with a wide range of complex and everyday life issues. I have a deep understanding of how past experiences can shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others and cope with life’s challenges, and occasionally present us with what feels like a permanent barrier, capping our goals in life and our sense of happiness in wellbeing. Often we are not even aware of this. Together, we can gently overcome these barriers as we explore patterns, emotions, beliefs and coping strategies that may have developed to protect you but may no longer be serving you effectively.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Thats probably why you are here. I appreciate it takes a lot to reach out and my goal is to honour that bravery and commitment by walking alongside you, at a pace that feels manageable, helping you develop a greater sense of self and life, become more resilient, more in control of your emotions, and make stronger, healthier choices that work for you and often those you care most about.

Practice description

I can support you with:

• Trauma & Abuse Recovery: Rebuilding safety, trust and resilience following complex or acute trauma.

• Attachment & Relationships: Understanding relationship patterns, boundaries and ways of creating healthier connections.

• Addiction & Coping: Exploring underlying needs and developing healthier, more sustainable ways of coping.

• Bereavement & Loss: Making space for grief and navigating significant life changes and transitions.

• Mental Health & Life Difficulties: Support with anxiety, depression, overwhelm, low self-esteem and challenging periods in life.

My first session

To begin with I offer a free 20 minute consultation where we can discuss your reasons for seeking counselling, answer any questions you might have and ultimately help us both decide if we are suited to working together, with the goal of maximising your time in therapy.

After this our first session is about getting to know you and starting to build the foundations of our therapeutic relationship to help us set the stage for whats to come. After this I like to think of it as a process of unravelling, learning to let go and then rebuilding using the strengths you already possess, plus some new ones along the way.
