About me and my therapy practice

Hello I’m Mandi,  and I’ve been working from my home based therapy practice since 2021. I am a counsellor/ psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist and integrative creative supervisor. I’m very experienced in working with people of all ages and in all stages of life.  I have over 40 years of experience in mental health support.

I’m a trauma informed therapist and the most important thing for me is that you feel safe and welcome in your sessions.

I specialise in working with complex trauma, historical childhood issues, neurodivergence and inner child reconnection.   I have lived experience of complex traumas, adoption and neurodivergence.

I offer sand tray therapy, creative therapy, somatic therapy, hypnotherapy, as well as traditional talking counselling and psychotherapy.  We will decide together what kind of therapy may benefit you,  This is your journey and you are always in charge. I’m here to empower you and help you to move forward.

You will find me to be a warm, calm, intuitive, non judgemental  and empathetic therapist with a good sense of humour.  I will never tell you what to do or give you advice.  You have everything you need within you to start moving forward, I’ll help you to recognise that and support you throughout your time in therapy.

Therapy can be painful, hard, emotional, funny, amazing and life changing.  You won’t be on your own. I’ll be right with you.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome! I’m Mandi, and I’m an integrative creative clinical supervisor.  I work with trainee counsellors, qualified counsellors, mental health and wellbeing practitioners and other professionals seeking supervisory support for their practice.

I’m based in Cleadon near Sunderland and I work from my home based therapy space to deliver your supervision face to face or on zoom.

I offer traditional and creative supervision. I’m qualified in the  CRAFTS model of supervision, the model which was developed by the creative counsellors and is aligned with the 7 eyed model of supervision.

I have lived experience of complex trauma, adoption and neurodivergence.  I previously worked in primary schools for a number of years as a school counsellor,  I now work solely in private practice with adults, couples and children.  I have over 40 years of experience in supporting people, especially in relation to mental health and challenging behaviours and experiences.

Practice description

My approach is integrative, grounded in person centred values and informed by trauma-focused and neurodiversity affirming practice.

I provide a supportive, reflective, creative and ethically robust space for you to explore your client work, celebrate your growth and navigate the challenges of your therapeutic practice.  I have particular experience supporting practitioners working with complex trauma and neurodivergence.  I’m also an all age practitioner so can support you whether you work with children, young people or adults.

Supervision with me is collaborative, relational and rooted in mutual respect.  I want you to feel that you can bring anything to supervision.  You matter too!

So whether you’re looking for a safe space to process your therapeutic work, deepen your practice, or meet professional and ethical requirements, I offer supervision which is both reflective and practical.

My first session

I ask that we meet face to face for our initial supervisory session if possible so we can connect and explore whether or not we are a good fit to work together.

I will ask you about yourself and your practice, your insurance, your professional body membership, how you work and what you are looking for from a supervisor.

If you then decide to engage me as your supervisor, we will go through a contract and arrange your next session.  Please note that I  will  available on Mondays and Tuesdays.
