About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am Ganiyat. You are welcome. You are Never ALONE; I am happy to support you.

I am a compassionate psychological counsellor, psychotherapist and facilitator. I offer therapy sessions for individuals, children and families. I am passionate about my work and adapt my practice to ensure that it is client-centred. I love interacting with people and consider being a part of my clients' positive, life-changing experiences a privilege. My exceptional listening skills, without interrupting or judging my clients, create a strong foundation for report building and trust that allows my clients to feel at ease in their journey of discovery and recovery.

I specialise in working with parents and families who find boundary-setting and parenting challenging. I also facilitate various workshops, such as self-care and financial literacy, for young people and clients recovering from mental health illnesses.

I understand that for healing and growth to occur, there must be a connection. So, I offer a human-to-human connection by showing empathic understanding and providing a safe space, enabling my clients to explore and share freely.

Due to individuals' uniqueness, I collaborate with each client to tailor my approach to meet their needs from their frame, including considering diverse backgrounds, races, and cultural needs. This understanding enhances my client's ability to discover how to solve their own problems and work on their desired changes.

I combine different techniques, including trauma-informed, to support clients presenting with stress, agoraphobia, loss, anxiety, depression, redundancy, relationship problems, fear, work-related stress, COVID-19 effects, suicidal thoughts/ ideation, or children's behavioural challenges.

Practice description

HELP IS AVAILABLE; YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I AM HAPPY TO HELP.

I believe in treating others as I would treat myself. So, I aim to provide you with a unique, quality therapeutic experience that would empower you through your journey of self-discovery and recovery. I observe confidentiality (not total privacy to enhance your therapeutic experience), enabling you to explore and express your thoughts and feelings in a nonjudgmental environment. This has always been my focus and has shown in my daily work of providing in-person and online counselling. For example, creating a sense of safety and an empowering environment is at the core of my practice. I always offer inclusive practice for all my clients, showing value and respect for my clients' right to self-governance (autonomy). Doing so enables them to feel safe, secure, heard, understood, supported, and empowered, allowing them to confidently embark on their self-discovery and healing process.

I have worked and am currently working with people of diverse backgrounds. I engage with children, young people, and adults in a long or short therapeutic relationship. These range from age five to sixty with challenging behaviour, anxiety, grief, depression, phobia, guilt, stress, loss, panic attacks, shame, eating disorder, body image problems and relationship issues. I provide a safe space for my clients under the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´) framework. I have worked with children in various primary schools and preschool settings, engaging with them during play to enhance their learning and promote positive relationships with them and their primary caregivers, such as parents. The experiences currently serve as valuable tools for facilitating children's therapy sessions. It allows me to build rapport and appropriate therapeutic relationships. Hence, my clients freely expressed, explored and were empowered to achieve and sustain their therapy goals.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Practice description

I can provide supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches, teachers and social workers, the practitioners working with vulnerable people, including the Peer Support Workers.

I am achieving my aim because I am a qualified:

Level 6 Clinical Supervision, Including Online and Telephone Working Practitioner. My qualification enables me to apply the Seven-eyed Supervision Model. The model is a process-oriented approach that integrates supervision's relational and systemic aspects. It guides me to consider and focus on the relationships between the client, the supervisee, and the supervisor, the client and supervisor, and the supervision context in the broader system.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Qualification. A Level 5 Leadership and Management Qualification with the Chartered Management Institute. The training modules include project management, mentoring and coaching. which means I can practice as a Coach, a Mentor or a Project Manager. This integrated approach supports my role as a supervisor. This means I can draw on various models to supervise clients with their style of therapeutic work and training. I work with adults and children and have experience working with families. I also manage TGC Social Inclusion Projects in the community.

Bachelor’s degree in Early Years and Childhood Education, and have worked in different early years settings, including the NHS and primary schools.

I have over four years of experience in a Peer Support Work role in the NHS, NELFT and Havering Mind.

I adhere to Â鶹ԭ´´ guidelines, which assist me in fulfilling the Â鶹ԭ´´ mandate of working to a professional standard. I also registered and accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
