About me and my therapy practice

I work in a calm, compassionate, and collaborative way, placing you at the centre of our work together. As an integrative, person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert in your own life, and therapy is shaped around your individual needs, experiences, and goals.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and at your own pace. My role is to listen with empathy, support your understanding of what you are experiencing, and gently help you explore ways forward.

Depending on what feels most helpful for you, our sessions may include talking therapy, mindfulness, or hypnotherapy. I work flexibly, drawing on my training in grief, trauma, attachment, humanistic therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), always adapting my approach to support you in the way that feels right.

Practice description

Calonlan Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a private, safe, and compassionate space where you can explore whatever may be causing distress in your life. You will be met with warmth, empathy, and non-judgemental understanding, allowing you to speak openly and freely.

As an integrative, person-centred counsellor, I work alongside you at your own pace, tailoring therapy to your individual needs. Sessions may include talking therapy, mindfulness, and hypnotherapy, alongside specialist training in grief, trauma, attachment, humanistic therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Whether you are facing loss, life changes, emotional overwhelm, or simply seeking greater clarity and balance, this is a space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to reconnect with your inner strength.

My first session

Your first session is a gentle introduction to therapy and a chance for us to get to know each other in a safe, supportive space. Whether we meet online or in person, there is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to talk about. We will always work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

During the session, you can talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. I will listen with empathy and without judgement. We can also discuss how therapy works, confidentiality, boundaries, and answer any questions you may have.

For online sessions, all you need is a private, quiet space where you feel comfortable and unlikely to be interrupted. For face-to-face sessions, you will be welcomed into a calm, confidential environment designed to help you feel at ease.

There is no need to prepare in advance simply come as you are. This first session is about creating a sense of safety, trust, and connection as you take your first step towards support.
