About me and my therapy practice
I’m a Â鶹Դ´-registered psychotherapist based in Torbay, offering individual counselling for adults navigating emotions and feelings as well as those who have difficulties managing mental and emotional health.
With a background in NHS health coaching, personal training, and yoga, I offer a holistic approach that recognises the link between emotional and physical wellbeing. Clients describe me as grounded, warm, and easy to talk to.
I work from The Devon Clinic in Paignton and online, creating a space to reflect, realign, and move forward. Whether you’re facing burnout, identity shifts, or seeking change, I offer support that’s collaborative and personalised.
I offer a short free telephone consultation for us to learn about your therapeutic needs.
Practice description
Counselling for Emotions and Feelings
For when life feels like too much — or not enough.
This counselling space is for those moments when you feel sadness, anger, confusion, or numbness but don’t know where to turn. You don’t need a label or a plan — just the willingness to talk. I’ll meet you with warmth, patience and a non-judgemental ear, helping you reconnect with what matters most.
Psychotherapy for Mental and Emotional Support
For those ready to go deeper.
This is longer-term therapeutic work that explores the emotional roots of pain, patterns of behaviour, and the meaning beneath your suffering. With a gentle, respectful approach, psychotherapy offers space to grow — at your pace — supported by clear ethical boundaries and enduring kindness.
Kindness – The foundation of trust, the doorway to change.
Non-Judgement – You are not broken. There is nothing here to fix, only to understand.
Safety – Emotional safety is sacred. My role is to hold space, not to analyse or direct.
Humanity – You are not alone. We walk this path together, gently.
My first session
Before our first session, we will have had an initial telephone consultation to make sure I’m the right fit for you and your needs. This is a chance for you to ask any questions about therapy, and for me to get a sense of what has brought you to this point.
Our first session is all about getting to know each other and beginning to build a therapeutic relationship - whether it’s for counselling or psychotherapy. We’ll explore the main themes you’d like to work on, and I’ll take some notes to help map out your goals. These could be weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels right for you, and they’ll give us something to focus on as we move forward. You’ll also be asked to sign the therapeutic agreement so that we’re both clear on how we’ll work together.
If we’re meeting face-to-face, we’ll begin by reflecting on your journey to the session and how you’ve been feeling leading up to this moment. If we’re meeting online, I’ll check in with how it feels to start therapy and make sure your space is private and comfortable.
During the session, I’ll keep track of time over 50 minutes by paying attention to non-verbal cues as well as what you’re saying. Many clients tell me the time flies by, which often shows how absorbed we are in the process.
At the end of the session, I’ll ask for your feedback and suggest some goals for you to think about before we meet again. These are always flexible and designed to help you feel more in control of your journey.
