About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and work with current life problems as well as longer-term issues.
Life can feel overwhelming at times - whether we've reached a point where stress and concerns have been building, we're struggling to see a way forward, or an inner critic keeps reminding us that we are not worthy of our aspirations.
I believe that feeling seen, heard and valued are at the core of the therapeutic process, and I aim to adapt to your needs. Often, we may not fully realize how our relationships and environment have shaped us - and continue to shape us. In therapy we can explore the underlying beliefs and past experiences that may be behind your current challenges. Together we can work towards understanding them, putting words to our feelings, and finding ways to accept ourselves more fully.
I am passionate about mental health and personal growth and offer a warm, non-judgmental space where we can explore whatever is troubling you, at your own pace. I work with clients from diverse and international backgrounds and have particular experience working with mood and anxiety, as well as identity and family related issues.
Practice description
My Background
Originally from Switzerland, I have worked and studied in several countries and I am passionate about life in multi-cultural society. Before training as a therapist I worked in the media and music industry — which continues to be an important part of my life — and I have a holistic approach to life's challenges, including personal growth, spirituality and self-expression.
As a counsellor with the NHS, ward volunteer at the Highgate Mental Health Centre and bereavement counsellor with Caris Islington, I have worked with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, physical and mental health, stress, self-harm, and work related issues, as well as chronic mental health conditions and neurodivergence in my role as a support worker.
Taking this first step can feel daunting and I offer a free introductory phone call to explore any questions and concerns you may have and get a sense of how we might work together.
I offer therapy in person as well as via video and telephone in English, German and Swiss-German.
My professional orientation
I work with an integrative approach, combining person-centred and psychodynamic models, which helps to explore present as well as past relationships and experiences and how they have shaped us.
