About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, qualified CPCAB Level 4 Diploma Person-Centred counsellor. Integrating further training, including Level 5 CPCAB Attachment-Based Psychotherapy and Complex Trauma Training. I aim to foster insight and healing by exploring personal challenges with curiosity. I offer an initial, free 20-minute no-obligation telephone consultation and follow-up sessions in person, online, or by phone.
I have experience supporting individuals through issues like identity, infidelity, work problems, grief and loss, sexuality, sexual abuse, trauma, PTSD, and negative childhood experiences. I also work with partners of and those affected by recent diagnoses, ill health, and autism spectrum conditions, including ADHD.
Are you finding yourself feeling more worried or anxious? Maybe there is something you want to talk about, but are scared it might not make sense or wouldn't be understood by family or friends. Spending hours overthinking, looking for answers from others or online. I understand that discussing painful or embarrassing topics can be difficult to start with. I offer a non-judgmental, confidential space to feel listened to and heard by an impartial, empathic professional.
Counselling can be a space to explore negative thoughts or feelings about yourself or others. Are you struggling to enjoy the things that once brought you joy? Feeling unhappy and unable to move forward, wanting to avoid the inevitable conflict. Maybe you find yourself angry and often say the wrong thing, affecting the relationships that matter most? I understand and work with clients who find themselves using unhelpful coping strategies to manage their feelings.
Understanding our past experiences can lead to personal growth and shape our future. I value each client’s unique story and respect them as an individual.
My first session
At the introductory call, I will ring you at the agreed time. Please be somewhere quiet where you can be undisturbed. I will capture some brief details from you and find out what has brought you to seek counselling and how you would like to work towards feeling better.
For example, some clients like sessions to be a quiet space for them to talk and feel listened to. Others may prefer a more interactive or creative way of exploring thoughts and feelings, for example, the option of using emotion or relationship cards, drawing or craft, book /worksheets/podcasts or psychoeducational recommendations.
I will explain how I work, the boundaries and limitations of the counselling/psychotherapy. Assess any areas of risk or work that would be outside my scope of expertise, and do my best to help signpost you to a more appropriate professional.
At our first session, we will continue to work together at your pace to understand what life is currently like through your eyes and agree on what you want to explore first in the timeframe we have for working together. We may use certain assessment tools to look at how you have been feeling and monitor any current risk factors.

Are you finding yourself feeling more worried or anxious? Maybe there is something you want to talk about but are scared it might not make sense or wouldn't be understood by family or friends.
