About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Brain Space Counselling and Psychotherapy, a safe and confidential space where your voice is truly heard and valued. Here, you’ll be seen and acknowledged without judgement, no matter what you’re facing.

I’m Nic, a down-to-earth and friendly practitioner dedicated to helping you understand and work through whatever is occupying your mind. Whether you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, struggling with your emotions, or facing tough decisions, I’m here to support you. Together, we’ll explore fresh perspectives, empower you to make meaningful changes, and provide psychoeducation when it’s helpful.

Practice description

I have experience working therapeutically with people of a wide variety of ages and backgrounds. I currently support adults and young people (11+) using an integrative counselling and psychotherapy approach.

My private practice currently serves people across the UK, along with supporting clients in education, health, and employee assistance sectors. As a Bupa register therapist, I also work within private healthcare. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I held a 14-year NHS career including time in rehabilitation and young people’s services. I also spent time volunteering in suicide prevention with charity Samaritans, along with supporting a local child loss bereavement organisation.

My first session

I understand that starting therapy and finding the right person to work with can feel daunting. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call, this is a relaxed opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss what you’re looking for, and see if I’m the right fit to support you.

If you decide to book your first session after our call, we’ll use that time to talk about your goals and explore what you hope to gain from counselling. Each session lasts 50 minutes and is held remotely, either online or by telephone, so you can access support from wherever you feel most comfortable.
