About me and my therapy practice
Are you a dad struggling to connect with your teenager, or a young person trying to make sense of your emotions? I’m Jeff, a male psychotherapeutic counsellor and therapeutic coach specialising in men’s mental health, dad-teen relationships, and young people aged 12-25.
I create a safe, trauma-informed, and shame-sensitive space where you can explore your inner world with warmth, empathy, and acceptance. My integrative approach is flexible and responsive to your needs, combining evidence-based counselling with practical coaching strategies.
Together, we’ll work on reconnecting with your teenager, understanding the impact of trauma, developing effective communication, and building emotional resilience. Whether through traditional talking therapy or creative methods like sand tray and art, I adapt to what works best for you.
Deciding to start counselling or coaching is a big step. I offer a free, no-pressure discovery call to help you explore if my approach is right for you. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Practice description
I hold a Level 7 Diploma in Counselling Teenagers, an MA in Education, and a BA (Hons) in Youth Work. My ongoing professional development includes training in Interpersonal Neurobiology, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Trauma-Informed Practice, CBT, Mindfulness, and more.
Since 2010, I have worked in various roles supporting young people, and I’m skilled at building therapeutic relationships that help clients understand and navigate their emotions and life challenges.
I work within the Â鶹Դ´ ethical framework, receive regular supervision, and maintain professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS for your safety.
My unique perspective as a male counsellor in a female-dominated field allows me to support men and dads with empathy and understanding, especially those navigating the complexities of father-teen relationships.
My first session
Your first session is an exploratory meeting lasting approximately 30 minutes. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to share why you’re seeking support now. We’ll discuss key moments in your life and explore what you hope to achieve through counselling or coaching.
This session also provides space for you to ask questions about my approach, confidentiality, and safeguarding practices, so you can make an informed decision about whether this service is right for you.
