Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or searching for a sense of clarity?

There are times in life when everything can feel overwhelming or hard to manage. Do you appear brave on the outside but feel sad or overwhelmed inside?  You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, or simply feeling low without fully understanding why. Perhaps relationship difficulties are leaving you feeling sad, distressed, or even at a crisis point.

As a counsellor I am here to support you in finding your way again, to the authentic you.  Discussing issues you are experiencing in the here and now may help you regain a sense of stability, finding a way to move forward confidently. 

Every couple faces challenges, does it feel like you're speaking different languages?  As a couples therapist I can help you reconnect with your partner, so you both feel safe and secure in your relationship, knowing the other person will be there for you, even when you disagree. 

Couples who have worked with me often describe feeling held and understood as they open up to one another and begin the process of healing. Together, they gain practical tools to improve communication, rebuild connection, and move forward feeling more hopeful about their future.

By working together in a relational and collaborative way, we can find the therapeutic approach that best suits you. If past traumas are keeping you stuck, therapy can help you understand and process those experiences, allowing you to move forward and begin shaping the future you want.

I have supported clients through a wide range of challenges, including relationship and attachment issues, trauma, anxiety, abuse, addiction, low self-esteem, stress, bereavement, and anger. There are many reasons people seek therapy and together we can explore what you need and create an approach that’s tailored specifically to you.


Practice description

Based in the Huntington area of York, there is parking.  I prefer to offer sessions in person, my therapy room is a quiet and calming space. 

I value and welcome open communication within our counselling relationship to ensure you feel on track.  In my counselling approach, mindfulness is an interpersonal ‘way of being’ with clients.  Mindfulness for me helps cultivate inner acceptance and awareness, which in turn enables me to offer a client acceptance, empathy and genuineness. 

My first session

I offer a brief zoom appointment initially to get an idea of what you are looking for from counselling and to make sure I am the right counsellor for you. Following that, I will email you some information about how I work and my fees and will then leave the decision for you to contact me if you decide you would like to make an appointment. I am happy to offer counselling aged 16 plus. I have a registered therapy dog and if we feel helpful to the therapy he can join us in your session.
