About me and my therapy practice
Welcome – I’m Carys Cole, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Reaching out for help can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that it’s one of the most important steps you can take towards healing. Whether you're facing anxiety, relationship struggles, loss, or simply feeling overwhelmed, I’m here to provide a safe, understanding space where we can work through your challenges together.
As a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor, I offer both online and face-to-face sessions, providing flexibility to suit your needs. My experience spans children, young people, and adults from diverse backgrounds, and I understand the importance of a tailored approach to support you in a way that feels comfortable and effective.
I hold an MSc in Counselling Children and Young People and a BSc in Psychology, and I am fully accredited with the Â鶹Դ´ Certificate of Proficiency. My therapy style is integrative, meaning I use a combination of techniques from different therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and attachment-focused therapy, to meet you where you are and work in the most helpful way for you.
Additionally, I am trained in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG), a powerful tool that uses video to enhance communication, build confidence, and improve relationships. This method is especially helpful in supporting families, children, and adolescents as it allows us to identify strengths and patterns in real-time, making it a highly effective way to address challenges in communication and behavior.
Whether you're facing emotional challenges, struggling with low self-esteem, or navigating transitions in life, I am here to walk with you through it. I also have experience as a Christian counsellor, and I’m comfortable exploring faith-based topics if that’s important to you.
If you’re considering therapy, I offer an initial consultation where we can talk through your goals and determine if we’re the right fit.
Practice description
What to Expect
Starting therapy can be a transformative experience, and it’s my goal to make sure it’s a journey that’s as unique as you are. As an integrative therapist, I use a combination of approaches to suit your needs, because I believe no single theory can fully address the range of challenges life can throw at us. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, or navigating life transitions, I tailor our sessions to fit you and your circumstances.
In our work together, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and confidential space where you’ll feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions. I believe in creating a genuine, collaborative relationship that centers around your personal experience and goals. My role is to walk with you on your journey of change—no judgment, no pressure—just a supportive space where you can truly be yourself.
Throughout therapy, I offer unconditional support, reflective listening, and insights that help you see things from a new perspective. My aim is to guide you in discovering new ways of thinking that foster greater confidence, emotional resilience, and clarity, empowering you to make the changes you want in your life.
I place great value on the therapeutic relationship between us, as it’s the foundation for growth and healing. That’s why I regularly check in with you—through reviews and discussions—to ensure our sessions are meeting your needs and that you feel supported throughout the process.
If you’re ready to take the first step towards change, I’m here to support you with compassion, expertise, and a deep commitment to your well-being. Together, we’ll work towards finding the clarity and confidence you deserve.
My first session
Getting Started – Your First Session
Starting therapy is a courageous step, and I’m here to make that process as smooth and supportive as possible. In our first session, I offer a free, no-obligation consultation. This is your opportunity to explore what’s brought you to therapy, and for us to assess if we’re a good fit for working together. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective therapy, so this initial session helps ensure that we can build a trusting and collaborative connection.
During the first session, we’ll talk about your current concerns, your goals for therapy, and how I can best support you. Whether you're considering therapy for the first time or have experienced it before, this session will give you a clear sense of how our work together will unfold.
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, and the duration of therapy will depend on your unique needs and goals. Some people find relief in just a few sessions, while others prefer a longer-term approach for deeper, sustained change. We’ll discuss this in our first meeting to ensure that we create a plan that works for you.
I understand that taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but I want to reassure you that you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. This first meeting is a safe space to ask questions, explore your concerns, and determine whether therapy is the right path forward for you.
Starting therapy can be challenging, but the rewards—whether it’s clarity, peace of mind, or meaningful change—are well worth the journey. I’m here to support you every step of the way, so feel free to contact me for a brief chat to see how therapy could help you move towards a healthier, more fulfilled life.
