About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and welcome to my page.
I am a humanistic-integrative counsellor offering trauma-informed and neurodiversity-aware counselling for adults and young people. I provide both short-term and longer-term therapy, tailored to your individual needs, pace, and goals. My work integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Person Centred Therapy, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
I understand how difficult it can be to choose the right therapist. My aim is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I bring a calm, gentle presence to sessions and work collaboratively, with compassion and respect at the heart of everything I do.
My practice is grounded in humanistic values, with an emphasis on self-compassion and emotional safety. Where appropriate, I may draw on structured tools such as CBT to support short-term, solution-focused work, while also offering space for deeper exploration when longer-term therapy feels more suitable.
Practice description
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place on a weekly basis. Sessions can be offered face to face, online, or by telephone, depending on your preference and what feels most accessible for you.
Face to face sessions are held at one of the following locations:
The REDI Centre, 54 South Street, Redditch, B98 7DQ
or
Redditch Therapy Centre, 91 Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, Redditch, B97 4LB.
The first session gives us an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain, and whether working together feels like a good fit. There is no obligation to continue beyond this point, and you are welcome to take time to decide.
I aim to offer a calm, respectful, and confidential space, working at a pace that feels manageable for you. Therapy is collaborative, and you remain in control of what we explore. Practical arrangements, boundaries, and confidentiality will be discussed clearly so you know what to expect from the outset.
My first session
Before arranging an initial counselling session, I offer a free, informal telephone consultation. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, talk briefly about what has brought you to counselling, and consider whether working together feels right for you. There is no obligation to proceed following this conversation.
If you choose to continue, the first counselling session provides space for us to begin getting to know one another. We will explore what you hope to gain from counselling and discuss any concerns you may have about the process. There is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable, and you are welcome to take things at your own pace.
As part of the assessment process, I may ask some questions about your current circumstances and relevant personal or medical history. Only information that is necessary for ethical and effective practice will be requested, and all information is stored confidentially in line with current GDPR guidelines.
I will also explain how counselling works, including confidentiality, boundaries, and practical arrangements, and you will have time to ask any questions. The first session is also an opportunity to reflect on whether continuing therapy feels like the right step for you.
I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting. My aim is to offer a calm, supportive space and to help you feel as at ease as possible during these early stages.
