About me and my therapy practice

Compassionate, Integrative Counselling for Life’s Challenges

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, the effects of domestic violence, work-related stress, addiction, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of how to move forward, counselling can provide a safe and supportive space to explore what is happening and begin to make positive changes.

I am an Integrative Therapist, offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental approach tailored to you as an individual. I recognise that no two people are the same, and therefore I do not believe that one therapeutic approach works for everyone. Instead, I draw on different therapeutic perspectives and techniques to create an approach that is responsive to your individual needs, experiences and goals.

A Safe Space to Be Heard

Coming to counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you have never spoken to a therapist before. You may not know exactly what you need help with, or you may simply know that something does not feel right.

My role is to offer you a space where you can talk openly and honestly, without fear of judgement. Together, we can explore the experiences, thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be affecting your wellbeing.

Counselling is not about telling you what you should do. It is about helping you develop greater understanding, identify what you need, and find ways of moving forward that feel right for you.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to effective counselling. Building trust, feeling listened to and being able to work at your own pace can all help create the foundations for meaningful change.

Practice description

An Integrative Approach

As an integrative therapist, I draw upon different therapeutic approaches and adapt my work to suit the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

We can explore both what you are experiencing in the present and how your past experiences may have shaped the way you think, feel and respond today. Where appropriate, therapy can also focus on developing practical strategies to help you manage difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful patterns and build greater resilience.

Your therapy will be collaborative. We will work together to understand what is bringing you to counselling and what you would like to achieve from the process.

Areas I Can Support You With

I work with a range of issues and difficulties, including:

Anxiety and excessive worry

Depression and low mood

Stress and feeling overwhelmed

Work-related stress and burnout

Relationship difficulties

The effects of domestic violence and abusive relationships

Addiction and associated difficulties

Low self-esteem and confidence

Difficult life changes and transitions

Emotional difficulties and distress

Issues relating to past experiences and trauma

Difficulties with coping and managing emotions

Feeling stuck, lost or uncertain about the future

This is not an exhaustive list. You do not need to have a specific diagnosis or be able to clearly identify what is wrong before seeking counselling. Sometimes, simply knowing that you are struggling is enough reason to reach out.

Specialist Interest in Addiction

I have a PDA in Addiction, giving me additional knowledge and understanding in working with addiction and the complex issues that can surround it.

You do not need to have all the answers before starting therapy. The first step is simply to begin a conversation.

Together, we can explore what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with and whether working together feels right for you.

If you feel ready to take that first step, please get in touch to discuss how I may be able to support you.

About me and my therapy practice

Choosing a counsellor is a deeply personal decision, and I believe that the foundation of effective therapy is a genuine, trusting relationship where you feel safe, heard, and accepted.

I am an integrative counsellor who works holistically, recognising that emotional wellbeing is influenced by the connection between mind, body, and lived experience. No two people are the same, which is why I tailor every session to meet your individual needs, goals, and circumstances. Whether you are seeking short-term support for a specific issue or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, our work together will be collaborative, flexible, and centred around you.

I support adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, stress, and relationship challenges. I also work from a neurodivergent-informed perspective, appreciating that everyone experiences and processes the world differently. My aim is to create an inclusive therapeutic environment where you can feel understood, respected, and free to be yourself.

My practice is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and respect. I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches, allowing me to adapt my work to suit your unique way of learning, communicating, and processing emotions. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you gain insight, build resilience, and move towards meaningful and lasting change.

Whether you are navigating a difficult period in your life, recovering from past experiences, or simply looking to understand yourself better, I will work alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and care.

Healing is not about becoming someone different—it is about reconnecting with your strengths, discovering new possibilities, and finding a way forward that feels authentic to you. I would be honoured to support you on that journey.

Practice description

Sessions last 50 minutes and are normally on a weekly basis.  At the start of counselling we shall mutually agree on what your requirements are.

Alongside counselling, I also offer complementary and alternative therapies to support overall wellbeing. These therapies can work alongside counselling to promote relaxation, reduce stress, encourage emotional balance, and support the body's natural capacity for healing. By integrating traditional talking therapy with holistic approaches where appropriate, I aim to provide a personalised experience that supports your wellbeing as a whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute introductory call/video for all prospective clients.  I will carry out a brief assessment of where you are currently with your wellbeing, including gauging, depression and stress levels and find out what your aims and objectives are.  Please email skyebluetherapies@gmail.com.
