Availability
I am currently accepting new clients and have availability for individual counselling, couples counselling, family therapy and clinical supervision.
I offer both online and in-person appointments, with daytime and evening availability.
Online sessions are available throughout the year and can offer greater flexibility around work, family life and other commitments.
In-person sessions are available from my therapy room in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, during term time.
I understand that finding the right therapist is important, so I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation before booking your first session. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you are hoping for from our work together and whether I feel I am the right person to support you.
My availability can change from week to week, so please feel free to contact me to discuss my current appointment times and find a session that works for you.
About me and my therapy practice
I鈥檓 Jazmina, an accredited counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over 10 years鈥 experience supporting adults, children and young people.
My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate and down-to-earth. I believe that the relationship between you and your therapist is incredibly important, and my priority is creating a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, without judgement or pressure to communicate in a particular way.
I work primarily from a person-centred approach, which means our sessions are led by you and what feels important in your world. However, I don鈥檛 believe therapy needs to mean sitting in silence while somebody simply listens. I work collaboratively and will ask questions, reflect things back to you and gently challenge patterns when I feel this could help you understand yourself more deeply.
I adapt the way I work to the individual rather than expecting every client to fit into the same therapeutic approach. Depending on what works for you, our sessions might include talking, creative approaches, practical strategies or simply having a safe space to process what has been happening.
I particularly enjoy working with people who have spent a long time feeling different, misunderstood or as though they are somehow 鈥渢oo much鈥 or 鈥渘ot enough鈥. Neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism, is an important area of my practice, and I welcome both diagnosed and undiagnosed clients as well as those beginning to explore their identity through a neurodivergent lens.
You don鈥檛 need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about. We can begin wherever you are.
Ultimately, therapy with me is about helping you understand yourself rather than telling you who you should be. Together, we can explore your experiences, relationships and patterns, develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance, and work towards changes that feel meaningful and realistic for you.
Practice description
I offer a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever has brought you to therapy.
I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you have never experienced therapy before. There is no expectation to arrive at your first session knowing exactly what to say, where to begin or even what you would like to change. We can work this out together.
Before starting therapy, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This is an informal conversation where you can tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.
If we decide to work together, sessions provide a consistent space that is yours. Rather than following a set programme, I tailor therapy to you, your experiences and what you need from our work together. We can explore current difficulties alongside past experiences, relationships and patterns that may be influencing how you think, feel or respond today.
Sessions can be reflective and exploratory, but they can also be practical. Where appropriate, we may look at coping strategies, boundaries, communication, emotional regulation and ways of understanding your own needs.
I offer individual counselling for adults and young people, alongside couples counselling, family therapy and clinical supervision.
Sessions are available online throughout the UK, with in-person appointments available from my private therapy room in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.
Whether you have a clear reason for seeking therapy or simply know that things don鈥檛 feel quite right, you are welcome to get in touch.
My first session
Before booking your first full counselling session, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you are looking for from counselling and whether we feel we could work well together. You are also welcome to ask me any questions about therapy or the way I work.
Your first counselling session is charged at my usual session rate and lasts 50 minutes.
There is no formal assessment that you need to prepare for and no expectation that you tell me everything about yourself in the first session. I understand that trust takes time, and you are always in control of what you choose to share.
During our first session, I will usually ask a little more about what has brought you to counselling, what life looks like for you currently and what you might like to gain from therapy. We may also talk about previous experiences of counselling, important relationships, your support network and anything you feel would be helpful for me to understand about you.
We will discuss how we might work together and go through the practical aspects of therapy, including confidentiality, boundaries and our counselling agreement.
Most importantly, the first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another. You don鈥檛 need to have a clear goal or know where to start. If all you know is that something doesn鈥檛 feel right or that you would like things to be different, that is enough for us to begin.
At the end of the session, we can discuss whether you would like to continue and agree a regular appointment that works for you.
