About me and my therapy practice
Hi and welcome,
My name is Mihaela and I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I am committed to providing a therapeutic space that is truly collaborative and rooted in compassion.
We’ll work flexibly, whether that’s for a few sessions or a longer journey. My commitment is to listen deeply and adapt my approach to make sure the support you get is meaningful and effective for you.
I believe that each of us is unique, therefore, it is important for me to tailor my approach to your individual needs so that I can meet you where you are and from there on to begin a healing journey at your own pace.
Practice description
I offer a confidential, warm, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and safely start a process of self-exploration and understanding.
Through our work together I aim to support you to make positive changes in your life, by gaining a greater awareness of any potential beliefs that may no longer serve you and allowing for greater self-acceptance and more control over the decisions you make in your life. As we uncover any potential blocks and build on your inner resources, you can begin to gain more inner freedom and to live more authentically while making better informed and more congruent life choices.
Being an Integrative therapist means I wholeheartedly embrace a personalised approach. I’m trained to thoughtfully draw from a wide range of theories and methods, including Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, to create a bespoke therapeutic experience that meets you where you
Specialised Somatic and Trauma-Informed Approaches
My practice is enriched by specialised training in trauma and the mind-body connection, allowing me to gently address issues that are held within the body.
Compassionate Inquiry (CI) Professional Program Graduate: I am a graduate of the Compassionate Inquiry approach, developed by Dr. Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur. CI is a somatic and psychotherapeutic approach that gently uncovers and releases layers of childhood trauma, constriction, and suppressed emotion embedded in the body, which are often at the root of physical and mental distress.
I have experience of working with a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem and self-confidence, trauma, loss, identity, childhood issues, abuse (emotional and physical), anger, discrimination, family issues, work-related stress, loneliness, and relationship problems.
My first session
What to expect and what I can offer
I appreciate that starting therapy can sometimes bring up feelings of anxiety, which is completely natural. Throughout the entire process I aim to walk alongside you, ensuring that we move at your own pace and in your own time.
If you are interested to find out more, please contact me for a free, confidential initial telephone or video consultation which usually takes around 15 minutes. This will give us both a chance to clarify any questions you might have and, should you wish to proceed, we can book a first session for a more in-depth assessment.
The initial assessment lasts for 50 minutes, and it is an opportunity to get to know each other, and to explore any areas of concerns that might arise. This is also an opportunity to explore the ways in which I might be able to support you, what you hope to gain from therapy as well as to agree on whether you feel that we could work together.
Following this initial session, there is no obligation to continue with therapy, the decision to continue our work together is yours to make.
Should you wish to commence our work together, we will establish together a set time to meet each week.
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly in confidentiality, online or in person.
Fees:
The initial consultation is free (around 15 min).
In person and online sessions (50 minutes) – £60.
