About me and my therapy practice
Are you finding yourself struggling with difficult emotions, anxiety, low mood, or low self-worth? Perhaps you often get caught in cycles of overthinking, feel stuck and unable to make changes, or are navigating a period of transition and re-evaluation.
I work with issues such as anxiety, low mood, understanding emotions and challenges, feeling stuck or experiencing loss of direction and meaning. My approach is integrative, drawing on a range of therapies including humanistic, relational, mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy, CBT, and insights from neurobiology and attachment theory. I work with your individual needs, helping you build understanding, discover new perspectives, and create meaningful change.
I work in a trauma-informed way and aim to provide a service that is inclusive regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, culture or disability. I hope together we can build a safe, kindly and non-judgmental listening space so you can explore your experience, talk freely about concerns and find conditions for change.
Practice description
I take an integrative approach, tailoring the way we work to your individual needs. This might be talking through how you’re feeling right now, reflecting on your values and sense of self, or making sense of past and present experiences. We may also explore the emotions and patterns that arise in our sessions, bringing understanding and greater flexibility. You're welcome to share as much of your story as feels right for you, and we'll gently explore what has brought you to therapy at this moment in your life. Gaining insight into your experiences and their impact can be helpful and open the door to meaningful change. Together, we'll look at ways to meet challenges with kindness and care, and find new perspectives that can help you move forward.
I offer both short term (6 - 8 sessions) and longer term work and can meet weekly or fortnightly. Sessions are usually 50 minutes. We would review after a few sessions to see if what we are doing is helpful and meets your needs.
My first session
I offer a free 20 min online session so you can meet me and ask any questions or share any concerns. This gives you the chance to decide if you'd like to begin counselling with me, and also we can be clear if I've got the right training and experience for what you might be seeking help with.
If you decide to go ahead our first session would include a short assessment and then space for you to share more fully what's brought you to seek support. We would talk about the approach we might take, any goals and expectations you may have and how many sessions will be helpful.
