About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Tracey — an online neurodiverse counsellor, psychotherapist, EMDR therapist, Hypno-CBT practitioner, and Clinical Supervisor. I offer trauma-informed, client-centred therapy and supervision from Inverness in the Highland and across the UK.

With over 15 years’ experience supporting children, young people and adults, I specialise in neurodivergent-affirming online therapy for Autistic and ADHD clients. I also work with LGBTQIA+ individuals and people facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, burnout, masking fatigue and sensory sensitivity.

My approach blends EMDR to gently process trauma, Hypno-CBT to build calming strategies, and cognitive–behavioural and person-centred techniques—all tailored to your pace and comfort. We collaborate to choose only the methods you feel safe using.

While supporting students at a local university/college, I run a private practice providing confidential, non-judgemental online therapy and clinical supervision. Therapy is a journey we navigate together in a safe space.

My personal journey includes:

- Late ADHD and Autism diagnosis after years of misdiagnosis

- Complex childhood leading to C-PTSD

My first session

Before Your First Session

At registration for our service – clearycounselling.co.uk/services – you’ll be asked to complete a series of questions designed to help me understand your needs, so I can prepare before our first session exactly how to best support you. All responses are confidential.

You will be offered a complimentary 15-minute consultation to answer any questions you may have before booking your first session.

Once we’ve agreed your 60-minute appointment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with payment instructions and your Microsoft Teams link.

Your First Session

It’s natural to feel a bit nervous—meeting someone new can feel that way. We’ll spend this time getting to know each other, clarifying your goals, and co-creating a plan together. We can explore how EMDR and Hypno-CBT might help you achieve your objectives and decide whether to weave these approaches into our work. I work in a person-centred, integrative style, weaving in creativity and psychoeducation. You’ll leave with at least one practical strategy to try.

Handling Tech Glitches

Should Microsoft Teams disconnect, I’ll call you on the number you provided. If you can’t re-join, I’ll follow up by email to reschedule or continue as soon as possible.

Safety and Confidentiality

At the start of every session, I’ll confirm your current location. This is simply to ensure your safety and enable me to alert emergency services if you need urgent assistance.

Hello, I’m Tracey Cleary, a neurodiverse, Âé¶¹Ô­´´-accredited psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with a Certificate in Clinical Supervision. I work primarily online, from Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland, UK, so you can join from wherever you feel most comfortable.

I know the excitement—and the nerves—that come with those early steps as a newly qualified counsellor, especially when you’re juggling extra needs or navigating uncharted territory. My aim is to make supervision feel like a warm, welcoming conversation rather than a test.

My first session

Your initial supervision session is a bespoke orientation designed to lay a solid foundation for our work together. Here’s what makes it different:

- Duration & Rate: 75 minutes (60-minute standard supervision session plus a 15-minute extended check-in) at the standard supervision fee


- Orientation & Goal-Setting:

• Briefly share your professional background, current practice context, and any additional support needs

• Supervision Contract outlining confidentiality, boundaries, and ethical guidelines sent for your review and signature

• Co-creation of learning objectives and exploration of modalities to enrich your practice

• Discussion of preferred tools, pacing, and any adaptations (e.g., visual aids, extra processing time) to make supervision most supportive- 


Session Flow:

• Check-in & Wellbeing (10–15 mins)

• Case Reflection using the Seven-Eyed Model (30 mins)

• Skills Development (15 mins) – practice tools, role-play, worksheet walkthrough

• Action Planning & Closing (5–10 mins)


- Between-Session Resources:

• Tailored handouts, visual guides, or reading suggestions and reflective exercises
