About me and my therapy practice
Hello! My name is Nilu (pronounced Nee-loo). I have supported people with mental health issues for over 20 years as a psychologist, academic, community worker, and therapist.
Trying to find a counsellor can feel overwhelming especially if you are already feeling engulfed by worries. You may have a particular issue you want to address, or it may be a general sense of unease where it is difficult to identify what is troubling you. Whatever brings you to our sessions, I will work with you to identify the approach which will suit you best and meet your needs.
An evidence-based theoretically sound approach drives my work. My multidisciplinary background in Psychology, Sociology, Geography, and Integrative Psychotherapy inform my approach as an Intersectional Psychotherapist. Intersectionality recognises the complexity of our lives and how we are constantly navigating multiple positions in relation to other people, places, and power structures.
I work relationally which ensures that my work is always driven by the client to meet the news you will bring. You are the expert on yourself, even if you don't always feel it.
Practice description
I offer online, in person and telephone sessions (including a mix of all). In person sessions are held in the beautiful Forest of Dean (Drybrook/Cinderford area), or in Bristol.

I work with a range of issues including and beyond the ones listed - I encourage you to give me a free call to have a chat to explore working together.
My first session
