About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes we all need space. Not the polite, socially acceptable kind of space — but real space. The kind where you can actually stop, breathe, and start putting the messy pieces of your life back together. That’s where I come in.
I’m not the stereotypical therapist. I don’t sit quietly behind a clipboard pretending to have all the answers. I am a human, interacting with another human first. I am authentic and collaborative in my approach, always ethically and always with care. People coming into therapy often want or need real conversations, not perfect ones.
My aim is simple: to walk alongside you while you figure things out. I’m kind, compassionate honest and real! If you want counselling that feels human rather than clinical, we might work well together.
Therapy with me doesn’t have to look one way. If talking feels hard, we can use creative approaches too. Sometimes expression doesn’t come out in neat sentences.
My practice in rooted in humanistic therapy, which simply means I work in a person-centred way, keeping you in the forefront of all the work we do together - no one knows you and your struggles more than you!
Life can feel overwhelming. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, low, unmotivated, or just deeply unhappy without knowing why. Maybe everything feels like it’s piling up — relationships, family, grief, work, school, identity, confidence, purpose. Maybe you are a woman in middle life, suddenly feeling like things need shaking up, assessing or changing. Maybe you feel like everyone else got the handbook for life that you somehow missed. We can explore this and more together.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to start. You just need a place to begin, and maybe a therapist who isn’t afraid to colour a little outside the lines.
Practice description
Maybe you’re questioning you sense of self, and feeling that you struggle more than how easy others make it seem? Any of these things we can explore together to try to help you find things such as clarity, peace, confidence and purpose.
I work with lots of people in lots of different times in life, many men in their 30's and 40's realising they have feelings they need to process and someone to help validate their experiences. I work with people exploring identity, sexuality and gender. I’m a strong ally to the LGBTQ+ community and believe everyone deserves a space where they can be exactly who they are without judgement.
I have worked extensively with neurodivergent people — and this is personal for me. I discovered later in life that I'm Autistic, and like many neuro-alternative people I’ve spent a lot of my life feeling different, misunderstood, or like I often didn't quite fit in. Adjusting, adapting and learning to advocate for my own needs is an ongoing, and ever liberating, process and I am forever finding new ways to be ok with that now.
Sometimes people don’t always 'get' me, sometimes people don’t always like me... and that’s ok, because the people who do connect with me tend to be the people who have struggled and felt misunderstood themselves; and I often think those are the most interesting people!
I’ve worked with clients from of all ages, and I have extensive experience supporting young people through charities, organisations and private practice. This includes working with things like self-harm, bullying, self-esteem struggles, Autism and ADHD. I additionally have training in bereavement and loss.
Sessions can be short-term or open-ended, depending on your wishes. I may also have concessionary slots available for those who may struggle to meet the cost of counselling, please ask.
Sessions are often weekly, although can also be decreased or increased as required. There may be some discounted sessions available for people in times of hardship, please ask.

My first session
I offer a free 30 minute 'getting to know you' session so we can assess how we would work together, or if someone else might be a better fit. An important aspect in counselling is the relationship forged between us, and so it is beneficial to introduce ourselves to each other prior to commencing sessions - the magic is in the Counsellor/Client relationship!
It also allows me to gather some basic details and for you to tell me about what brings you to therapy and your hopes and goals for the sessions, so we could get an idea of how we would work together.
