In counselling, therapy sessions most commonly occur on a weekly basis. However, the ideal frequency is highly individual and depends on your specific needs, the severity of your symptoms, the type of therapy, and your financial situation.
Weekly Sessions: This is the standard and most common frequency, especially in the initial stages of therapy. Weekly sessions help establish a strong therapeutic relationship and maintain consistent momentum for progress.
I offer a free initial 30-minute session. For you to consider what would be a good fit for you, would I? Could I be a therapist that feel comfortable with?
The fee reflects my knowledge, experience and accommodates costs so is set at £65 per session. I also provide concessionary rates according to circumstances.
I have availability on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Monday or Tuesday evening
I see people in person or online, the choice is yours. I have on street care parking available
My area of expertise is working with adults, I do not see people under 18 nor couples
About me and my therapy practice
Psychodynamic counselling is a type of talking therapy that explores how past experiences, especially childhood ones, and the unconscious mind influence current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It involves talking to gain self-awareness, understand patterns, and address underlying issues, often through a longer-term, in-depth approach. This can lead to greater self-knowledge and the ability to deal with difficult situations more effectively
I have a rich and diverse professional background, encompassing psychodynamic training, mental health nursing, addictions, occupational health, midwifery, and a Master's in Public Health, This extensive skill set allows me to offer a holistic, interactive, and multifaceted therapeutic approach.

My first session
Please share what's on your mind. I am here to listen and help you find a space where you are more comfortable and at ease.
The first session is primarily an assessment for both the therapist and the client to determine if they are a good fit.
For you as the client, it is an opportunity to:
• Assess Comfort: Evaluate if you feel comfortable, heard, listened to, and understood by the therapist.
• Clarify Goals: Discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you are seeking, and what goals you would like to achieve.
This collaborative approach ensures that you feel safe and that the therapeutic goals align with your needs and expectations. I am able to provide a wide range of modalities ranging from Psychodynamic, to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which is more solution focused and can be directive.
