About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Jack
I offer therapy grounded in person-centred and existential approaches. This means You can expect a warm, accepting relationship built on empathy. Within this relationship I help you reflect so that change happens through awareness, rather than force. In doing this it is possible to understand yourself more deeply, understand the choices you make, discover what really matters to you and make changes that feel authentic to you. I will approach our work with curiosity and care as opposed to labelling and diagnosing. I can offer support to face up to life. I recognise that life involves uncertainty, change, freedom, and responsibility. Together, we explore how you respond to these challenges and what it might mean to live more fully.
I work open-endedly, allowing therapy to unfold at your pace. However, if you prefer a more time-limited structure, we can discuss this together.

Practice description
My philosophy
I am drawn to existential/ philosophical ways of working with clients, because with this perspective I see human suffering not as medical but in the struggles of the human condition wherein we are all responsible for our own lives within the limits of many things not of our own choosing and trying to navigate this without a manual. Life is uncertain and never fully defined with all questions answered. This can be simultaneously anxiety provoking and energising to confront reality in all its mystery.
The best way to confront life’s challenges is with another person who cares enough not to just be therapist but be human with you.
My first session
I offer the first session at a reduced rate of £40.
During this session we will discuss a therapeutic contract to agree that we are going to work together. This will be our opportunity to collaborate by discussing what your therapy goals are and what we can do to get there. This is also an opportunity to ask questions.
I like to keep this session conversational. For me it is an opportunity to become acquainted with you and your experiences and your background.
