About me and my therapy practice

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure where to begin. My aim is to offer a space where you feel safe, accepted, and able to talk openly without fear of judgement. You don't have to have the right words or know exactly what's wrong, we can make sense of things together, at a pace that feels right for you.

I work with adults experiencing a range of emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, and life transitions. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or simply exhausted from trying to cope on your own. Whatever brings you to therapy, you will be met with warmth, compassion, and respect.

I am a person-centred approach, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that leads to greater self-understanding and lasting change. Every client is unique, so while person-centred therapy is at the heart of my work, I also draw on other therapeutic approaches where appropriate to meet your individual needs. This flexible, integrative way of working allows therapy to be tailored to you rather than expecting you to fit a particular model.

Practice description

As therapy progresses, many clients notice they begin to feel less overwhelmed by anxiety, develop greater confidence in themselves, and gain a stronger sense of who they are. They often become better able to understand their emotions, recognise and communicate their needs, make decisions that feel right for them, establish healthier boundaries more build more fulfilling relationships.

Clients often describe me as calm, approachable, and easy to talk to. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work because I believe meaningful change happens when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted without judgement.

Alongside my general counselling practice, I have specialist experience supporting parents and carers of children who have experienced sexual abuse. For more than nine years, I have worked with caregivers navigating the emotional impact of trauma, helping them process feelings such as guilt, fear, anger, and helplessness while developing a deeper understanding of their child's experiences. This work is grounded in a trauma-informed approach and recognises the importance of supporting the whole family.

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but you don't have to face life's challenges alone.

If you are ready to take the first step or have any questions, feel free to contact me for an initial consultation.

About me and my therapy practice

On the outside, you may look like you're coping.

You meet deadlines, manage responsibilities, support everyone around you and keep going, even when you're exhausted. But underneath, you might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected from yourself, or wondering how long you can keep holding everything together.

I work with professionals who are experiencing work-related stress, burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, difficult life transitions and the lasting impact of trauma. Many of my clients are used to being the person others rely on, which can make asking for support feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable.

My approach is warm, thoughtful and collaborative. I won't tell you what to do or expect you to have all the answers. Instead, we'll make sense of what's happening together, helping you understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and supporting you to move towards lasting change.

Alongside supporting clients with workplace stress and anxiety, I have nearly 10 years' specialist experience working with people affected by trauma, including sexual abuse. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how trauma can affect our relationships, confidence, nervous system and sense of self, often long after the event itself.

I also offer specialist counselling for parents and carers supporting a child who has experienced sexual abuse or trauma. Having spent almost a decade facilitating therapy and parent support groups in this field, I understand the unique emotional impact this can have on the whole family and provide a compassionate space to process these experiences.

Practice description

I offer private counselling and clinical supervision for adults, both online and in person. My practice provides a confidential, supportive space where you can step away from the pressures of daily life, make sense of what you're experiencing, and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, work-related stress, burnout, low mood, relationship difficulties, trauma, and life transitions. Alongside self-funding clients, I am a recognised provider for Bupa, AXA Health and Aviva, and also accept referrals through a number of employee assistance programmes (EAPs).
