I have completed a Trauma Focused Certificate - I am therefore able to work in a trauma informed way or trauma focused; depending on your preference. We can talk about what the difference is and you can choose.
I have undertaken Rainbow Mapping Training. This can help you identify your emotions, thoughts, bodily sensations and behaviours between sessions. You can use this to raise your self-awareness to develop new resources that reduce the intensity and direction of any discomfort you might have. It is simple and very effective.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Nicola. I offer a calm, safe and empathic space so that you can talk and feel heard.
Are you wanting to make a change in your life, to be heard, to heal, to be understood, to begin a new understanding of yourself or maybe all of the above? I work with people just like you.
I work with clients at their own pace and I feel passionate that we build a good relationship together. I believe that finding a new perspective in a supportive space will be empowering for you. By discovering more self-awareness, you can make the right choices for you and as a result of working together, you can change the ways in which you think, feel and act and also understand the ways others react to you.
Some of the areas that I can help you with;
- Anxiety & Depression
- Loss and bereavement
- Stress
- Boarding School Syndrome
- Feeling unable to cope
- Childhood trauma
- Childhood Sexual Abuse
- Rape and Sexual Assault
- Low self-esteem
- Adult children of alcoholic
- Gambling addiction
Seeking counselling can be one of the most helpful steps we ever take in our life. It can take courage to reach out and I understand that. I have had my own therapy and therefore know how beneficial it can be.
Maybe now is the time for you to invest in yourself.
Practice description
I currently have slots available face to face on a Monday at 1pm or 2pm. Please enquire for availability for online sessions.
Face to Face sessions are located in Basingstoke in an idyllic setting with free parking.
I offer online sessions via Zoom. This has proved popular for a lot of clients that don’t live near to my office as I can see anyone in the UK.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute chat on the phone to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
Alternatively, you can book an initial session and we can take it from there.
On the first session I will take some brief details about you and you can tell me what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. I will have sent you a copy of the counselling agreement in advance and I will ask you to sign a copy for me to keep for my records.
There is no obligation to continue after this first session. Research shows that the best outcome for counselling is based on the relationship between the two of us.
I look forward to hearing from you.
