I tend to work Monday - Friday and sessions are usually between 9:30am & 8pm.
However, I am flexible in terms of when I can offer therapy and will occasionally offer sessions over the weekend.
I will work weekly or fortnightly or monthly depending on your needs - we can talk about what works best for you during an introduction session.
About me and my therapy practice
A bit about me and my practice:
I provide person-centred therapy enriched by mindfulness techniques that create real results. Based in Ayrshire, I work with clients worldwide through online sessions, phone, text, or in-person meetings in my home.
My person-centred approach places you and your unique experiences at the heart of therapy. Rather than imposing techniques or diagnoses, I create a supportive space and will help you deepen your self-understanding and shift perspectives so that you can move forward. This core philosophy is enhanced by simple, practical and effective mindfulness tools that you can immediately apply in your everyday life. No flowery language or scented candles鈥攋ust relatable, honest support focused on what works for you.
I have a background in working in social work and am therefore conscious of the pressure in public sector working and how difficult it can be to find space to talk about the day to day experiences of this kind of work. I offer a confidential space to talk about the day to day challenges and a place to process some of the distressing and challenging experiences in working as a teacher, a nurse or social worker amongst other professions.
I also have quite a high caseload of men and am conscious of the challenges that can arise for men speaking about the issues on their mind.
As one client shared: "The only therapy that's worked for me." (A, Scotland)

About me and my therapy practice
Hi there,
I am a 麻豆原创-accredited, person-centred counsellor with extensive experience in both private practice and a range of health and therapy organisations. Having completed a 6 month course in providing clinical supervision, I offer supervision by phone, online and in person. I live in Ayr in Scotland and work from my home.
My approach to supervision is reflective and collaborative鈥攐ffering a space where you can explore the emotional and practical dimensions of your client work and what it brings up for you. I believe supervision works best when there鈥檚 trust, openness, and a sense of shared exploration. I hope to offer that.
I am happy to work with a variety of modalities and work with both qualified & trainee therapists. I seek to offer a warm, expansive space where we can work through the challenges your work brings. I believe supervision needs to be respectful, challenging & in partnership. If these elements are in place I believe there鈥檚 opportunity for growth and learning for all. I try to offer this in my work both as a supervisor and therapist.
I also have a long-standing interest in Buddhist practice which threads into my work both as a therapist & supervisor. This informs both my way of being & work. Those I work with have found these ideas nourishing ideas useful whether they practice any meditation or not. I tend not to be jargon focused and relate these concepts, hopefully, in simple and practical ways.
If you鈥檙e looking for a supervisor and feel I might be a good fit, you can find more details at www.iancatteralltherapy.com. I鈥檓 happy to have a chat before you make any decision so please feel free to get in touch.

Practice description
I live in Ayrshire in Scotland and work as both a therapist and supervisor from a room in my house. This room is upstairs but I can work downstairs too. The house has handrails to help those with some physical limitations up the stairs and in the drive too.
I also work extensively online too both in terms of therapy and supervision.
I believe in my work I provide an informal put very practical form of supervision. I offer a lot of myself in terms of my work experiences & my experience of mental health work, therapeutic practice & my lived experiences. I am able I believe to offer a supervision experience based on practical advice, personal experience, a theoretical framework and perhaps most importantly to me a non-judgemental approach.
If you are seeking a supervisor who is relatable, supportive and empathetic I might be the right person for you.
My first session
Our first session would inevitably be led by a need to get to know each other. I would want to know what you thought you needed from supervision primarily and how you learn best if you鈥檙e a student therapist.
Of course space would be created for any urgent issues that required to be addressed but it takes time to develop a working relationship and I would want to allow opportunity and time for that relationship to grow.
