About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced and skilled therapist with a background in clinical psychology aiming to support you towards improving your wellbeing.

I am from a multicultural background with a substantial life experience. This has guided me to develop an open mind towards life in general and to personal dilemmas in particular, with two key personal values at the centre:

  • compassion, as a powerful tool to transmute emotion and to create a more joyful life.
  • equanimity, the awareness that I cannot control life unpredictability but I can control /choose the way I respond to it

How can I help:

  • by listening without judgement and valuing the unique human being that you are
  •  to investigate and understand emotions and behaviour patterns
  •  to reflect on earlier interactions and how they affect your present relationships

  •  to explore who you are, improving your self confidence and motivation toward life in general.
  •  I offer creative ways to express difficult feelings and experiences as a way of processing and integrate them.

My counselling approach is person-centred, emphasising deep listening and empathy as core conditions for healing. In addition I also incorporate cognitive and psychodynamic psychological models to effectively meet the individual needs of my clients. As a long-term mindfulness practitioner, I invite a gentle, somatic and compassionate awareness into therapy sessions to connect and integrate the body and mind.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a therapist with a background in clinical psychology, offering thoughtful and grounded support to individuals who want to better understand themselves and the challenges they are facing.

Coming from a multicultural background, having lived within different countries and having a wide range of life experience has shaped my open and curious approach to people’s stories and personal dilemmas. At the centre of my work are two values:

Compassion – approaching difficult experiences with empathy and understanding.

Equanimity – recognising that while life is often unpredictable, we can still develop awareness and choice in how we respond.

These values guide my work and help create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported as they reflect on their lives and move towards meaningful change.

How I Can Help

I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where we can explore what may be troubling you at your own pace.

In therapy we may work together to:

  • Understand emotions, thoughts, and patterns of behaviour
  • Reflect on past experiences and how they shape present relationships
  • Work through trauma and disconnected aspects of yourself
  • Navigate grief, loss, or experiences of abandonment
  • Strengthen confidence, motivation, and a sense of direction
  • Develop greater awareness and resilience in difficult moments

Sometimes talking is enough. At other times I may introduce gentle reflective or creative approaches that help express and integrate feelings that are difficult to put into words.

Practice description

My practice is primarily person-centred, which means placing careful listening, empathy, and respect for each person’s experience at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.

Alongside this, I draw from psychodynamic and cognitive perspectives, adapting the work to the needs and preferences of each client.

As a long-term mindfulness practitioner, I also bring a gentle awareness of the connection between mind and body into sessions, helping clients notice and understand their internal experiences more fully.

Whether you come with a clear goal or simply a sense that something in your life needs attention, therapy can provide space for reflection, insight, and growth.

Experience

I have supported individuals from diverse backgrounds across a range of therapeutic settings in Scotland and London.

My experience includes:

Long-term counselling services, supporting clients with a wide range of personal and emotional difficulties

Rape Crisis, working with survivors of sexual violence

Cruse Bereavement, supporting people through grief and loss

Mind, providing short-term therapy for NHS patients

Hospital settings, offering brief therapy for individuals living with chronic illness

I have worked with people experiencing:

  • anxiety and depression
  • trauma and sexual abuse
  • grief and bereavement
  • difficulties with self-esteem and motivation
  • major life transitions and relationship challenges

My work is grounded in the belief that each person carries within them the capacity for resilience and change. Therapy can help uncover and strengthen these inner resources.
