About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Karena, a Relationship and Grief Counsellor working with individuals and couples.
Reaching out for support can feel daunting, but you don’t have to navigate things on your own. My goal is to make the process as calm and comfortable as possible, providing a space where you can speak openly and be heard without judgment.
Grief and Loss Support
I work with individuals navigating the heavy landscape of grief, loss, and pre-bereavement. Grief isn’t only about death; it follows any profound life change, such as divorce, health shifts, or the loss of a career. When your world shifts, it’s natural to feel uncertain about who you are now. My approach is about moving through, not moving on, honouring your experience while reconnecting with the parts of life that still matter to you.
The Journey Together
This sense of loss often extends into our most intimate connections. Just as I support individuals through transitions, I also work with couples who may be mourning an "older" version of their relationship and looking to build something new. Whether you face disconnection, conflict, or trust issues, I provide a safe, balanced space for both of you to be heard.
An Inclusive Practice
I warmly welcome LGBTQ+ individuals and couples and offer an affirming environment for everyone. I provide all sessions online, offering you the flexibility to engage in therapy from a space where you feel most secure.
If you’re unsure where to start, that’s okay. We can take it one step at a time. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Fees
Sessions are charged at £50 for individuals and £70 for couples.
My Approach
As a Â鶹Դ´-registered counsellor, I integrate therapeutic approaches to meet your specific needs. Whether supporting an individual through bereavement or a couple facing a communication breakdown, I offer a steady, safe presence. My work is deeply rooted in empathy, ensuring a safe space for all, including the LGBTQ+ community.
The Benefits of Online Therapy
Working exclusively online allows me to offer:
Accessibility: Professional support from your own home, removing travel stress.
Flexibility: Easier integration into busy professional or family schedules.
National Reach: I work with clients across the UK, providing specialist support to those who may lack local experts.
Professional Standards
I adhere to the Â鶹Դ´â€™s ethical framework, undergoing regular clinical supervision and training to ensure my practice remains effective in the fields of relationship dynamics and bereavement.
My first session
The First Session
The first session is an opportunity for us to explore your current circumstances in a calm, confidential space. It is a chance to get to know one another and ensure that I am the right fit for your needs and goals.
During this time, you can talk about what is bringing you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to discuss, while others aren't quite sure where to begin. Both are completely okay. This session helps me understand how best to support you as we begin our work together.
Online Comfort
As we will be meeting via a secure video platform, we can also use these first few minutes to ensure you feel comfortable with the technology. There is no pressure or expectation, just an open, supportive space to start the conversation at your own pace.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Karena.
Reaching out for support can feel daunting, but you don’t have to navigate things on your own. My goal is to make the process as calm and comfortable as possible, providing a space where you can speak openly and be heard without judgment.
I work with children, young people and adults who are experiencing grief, loss or pre-bereavement. Grief isn’t only about death; it can follow any major life change, such as divorce, health changes, identity shifts, children leaving home, or the loss of a career or sense of self. When life changes profoundly, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed or uncertain about who you are now.
I am also a relationship and couples counsellor, supporting those who are struggling with communication, disconnection, conflict, or periods of change. Whether you’re hoping to rebuild trust, improve understanding, or reconnect with one another, I provide a safe and balanced space for both of you to explore what’s happening.
Counselling with me offers a steady, compassionate place to slow down, understand your experience, and find ways forward that feel meaningful and manageable. It’s not about moving on, but moving through, honouring what you’ve been through while reconnecting with the parts of life that still matter to you.
I warmly welcome LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, and I am committed to offering an inclusive, affirming environment for all the people I work with.
If you’re unsure where to start, that’s okay. We can take it one step at a time.
