I offer both online and in-person (Bristol) therapy. I offer in-person therapy on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.Online sessions are mostly available on Tuesday, Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Please message me if you'd like to know my available time slots.

About me and my therapy practice
I'm a trilingual (Cantonese, Mandarin, English) HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist as well as a EMDR therapist based in Bristol, providing a culturally sensitive psychological counselling and therapy services to clients of diverse backgrounds. I've had more than 12 years of clinical experiences, specialising in sexuality, gender and relationship diversity issues, trauma and adults' mental health problems. In addition, she's had substantial experiences in working with neurodivergent (mainly ADHD & autism) adults and adolescents, and adults who struggle with eating difficulties.
Originally from Hong Kong, and growing up in the UK and Canada during her adolescence and young adulthood, I've acquired a strong awareness and openness to individual and cultural differences. Before I embarked on the journey in understanding human minds and behaviours, I had experienced a great deal of struggles in balancing between her own needs and the expectation of the wider society until I became fully aware of my urge in pursuing a fulfilling and meaningful role that reflects myself.

Practice description
My therapeutic approach is relational integrative approach, which means that I focus on the relational context in therapy while applying different kinds of therapy (e.g., CBT, systemic approach, ACT) and techniques to fit the needs and difficulties of each individual. For example, in psychodynamic therapy, I focus on the unconscious processes and past events, which will facilitate the client to make sense of what is going on through enhancing self-awareness into present difficulties. In CBT, we can work collaboratively to explore your beliefs and personal rules that contribute to the maintenance of the difficulties in life.
Besides this, I'm a trained EMDR therapist. I've been providing therapy with a trauma-informed approach. Please note that I'm a trained EMDR therapist registered in The Hong Kong EMDR Association, but I'm not a member of EMDR UK/ Europe. Please consult EMDR UK if you have concern about this.
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling sessions.
My first session
Starting therapy isn't always easy and arranging the first session could be a stressful process for some people. Having a sense of fear and uncertainty is understandable. If you have concerns, I'm happy to schedule a 10-15mins phone call before we schedule a time for a face-to-face initial consultation (sometimes called an assessment). This is a chance for us to meet and to understand your expectation in therapy. It's also an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether we may be a good match.
Currently, I'm charging on a sliding scale based on personal income. Concession rate is only available for full-time University students/ individuals who are on benefits, and places are limited.
Before we meet for the first time, I will let you know details regarding payment and I will send you a contract that includes cancellation and rescheduling policy. In the first session, we will also discuss practical arrangements, such as time and frequency of appointments.
