Hello, and a warm welcome to my page

I’m Dawn, an experienced, integrative Counsellor and EMDR Practitioner based in South Yorkshire, supporting clients both locally and across the UK. At the heart of my work is a deep sense of empathy and a trauma-informed approach that honours each person's unique story, pace, and healing journey.

I specialise in helping clients recover from trauma, using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), inner-child work, and other gentle, effective methods to process emotional pain and restore a sense of safety and self-connection. I believe that healing happens in a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and valued.

I work with children, young people, and adults navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship and family difficulties, work-related stress, ADHD, and Autism. As a neuro-affirming therapist, I support people in embracing their authentic self, focusing on strengths rather than differences and difficulties. My approach is inclusive and centred around individuality.

I’m an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Âé¶¹Ô­´´), and I bring warmth, care, and integrity to every therapeutic relationship. Whether you're working through trauma or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, compassion, and respect.

Practice description

I offer a warm, empathetic space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences safely and without judgment. Therapy with me is collaborative and compassionate, rooted in a deep respect for who you are and what you’ve been through in your own experiences.

Together, we’ll make sense of your past and present, uncover patterns, and gently work toward the changes you’d like to see. Whether that means building healthier coping strategies, processing difficult memories, or reconnecting with your true self, I’ll support you every step of the way.

All parts of you are welcome here, where you don't have to navigate anything alone.

My first session

Reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, and it’s completely normal to feel anxious or uncertain at first. I understand how you might be feeling right now, and I’m here to support you through this.

I warmly invite you to contact me for a free initial phone consultation. This is a safe space to ask questions, share why you’re seeking support, and discuss your goals for counselling. It’s also an opportunity to get a sense of how we might work together.

If you feel comfortable and feel I’m the right therapist for you, we can schedule our first session whenever you’re ready.
