About me and my therapy practice
Psychotherapist | EMDR Practitioner | Anxiety, Trauma & Relationship Difficulties | Online & In-Person
Online and in-person sessions (by arrangement)
I am a psychotherapist with over 25 years of clinical experience in Brazil and the UK. My background includes a specialization in brief psychoanalytic psychotherapy, a Master’s degree in Health Psychology, and EMDR training since 2007.
I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Therapy can help you better understand emotional patterns, develop resilience, and find new ways of coping with life’s challenges.
My integrative approach combines humanistic and psychodynamic perspectives and is tailored to each person’s needs, supporting growth, healing, and meaningful change.
Practice description
I provide a warm and supportive therapeutic environment where you can explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing.
People often come to therapy when they are experiencing anxiety, emotional distress, trauma, relationship difficulties, or significant life changes. In our work together, we will explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships that may be influencing your current experiences.
Therapy can help increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and support the development of healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges.
My approach is integrative, drawing on humanistic and psychodynamic perspectives, and I tailor the therapeutic process to the needs and pace of each individual. I also incorporate EMDR when appropriate, particularly when working with trauma and distressing experiences.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and to talk about what has brought you to therapy. You may wish to share the difficulties or concerns you are currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process.
During this session, I will also ask some gentle questions about your background, current situation, and emotional wellbeing. This helps me understand your experiences and how best to support you.
It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about therapy and to see whether you feel comfortable working with me. Feeling safe and supported in the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the process.
Sessions usually last 50 minutes and are typically held on a weekly basis. Everything discussed in therapy is treated with care and confidentiality, in accordance with professional ethical guidelines.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining humanistic and psychodynamic perspectives. When appropriate, I may also incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), particularly when working with trauma or distressing memories.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for you.
