About me and my therapy practice

About Me & My Practice

I’m Jani, an accredited multicultural counsellor with over seven years of experience working with identity, autonomy, and belonging. Drawing on Gestalt and embodied therapy, alongside a background in yoga and Eastern philosophy, I support clients in developing a stronger sense of self-direction.

My practice offers a dedicated space for individuals who have experienced rigid systems, restrictive relationships, or the complexities of living between cultures. I understand firsthand how disconnection and constraint can affect wellbeing, and I see the therapeutic relationship as a steady, restorative process of regaining clarity and balance.

My Approach: Mind, Body, and Culture

My style is interactive, collaborative, and deeply non-judgemental. We don’t just "talk" about problems; we work toward a wholesome connection between mind and body.

  • Embodied Therapy: We use mindfulness and somatic techniques to reset the nervous system and restore inner balance.
  • Gestalt, Relational & IFS-Informed Work: We explore how different parts of you relate to yourself and others, building awareness that supports clearer choices and more authentic action.
  • Multicultural Focus: Growing up in an intercultural environment, I understand the friction of transition and the beauty of diversity.

I offer sessions in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
