If group psychotherapy sounds like something you might be interested in please send me an email outlining in 2 or 3 paragraphs why you would like to access the group. Please keep in mind that it can take time to form a group but I will always keep you up to date with developments. I am also available via email or phone to answer any questions you might have.
I take two weeks annual leave every December and August.
About me and my therapy practice
I help people to understand and respond to some of the difficulties that may be causing them distress. My work often involves helping those who might feel lost, depressed, overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, overreactive or isolated in some way.
I specialise in working with people who have suffered harmful childhood experiences compounded by subsequent hurt and instability. I welcome people who may be struggling in their relationships whether that be family, work, social, intimate, or a combination of these.
I hold a particular interest in addictive, obsessive and impulsive behaviours, and in supporting those who often feel overcome by intense emotions, uncertain about their identity, or troubled by confusing or intrusive thoughts.
I am able to offer individual and group psychotherapy.
Practice description
I spent many years providing mental health support in educational and health and social care settings. Currently, I work for an organisation offering psychotherapy to individuals with multi-complex mental health presentations. I also maintain a growing private practice.
I hold a first-Class BA Hons degree in Health and Applied Social Sciences, a Foundation degree in Working with Substance Misuse, and a Master of Arts degree in Integrative Psychotherapy with distinction.
I am a registered and accredited member of the Â鶹Դ´ – meaning that the way I practice has met the Â鶹Դ´â€™s higher standards as a competent, ethical, and independent practitioner. I adhere fully to the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework.
I maintain a commitment to ongoing training and in recent years have completed training courses in DBT, MBT and CBT. I am presently undertaking intensive and ongoing training with the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) to further develop my skills as a group psychotherapist.
My first session
My first session is charged at £35. This will offer us the opportunity to meet each other and find out more about your situation and why you are seeking therapy now. It will allow time for questions and a fuller explanation of my approach and style of work.
I have a therapy room situated in central Lancaster and I offer ‘in person’ and video call (Zoom, Teams) sessions.
There is one flight of stairs going up towards my therapy room. There are some toilets on the same floor.
