About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Richard English, a psychotherapist specialising in men's mental health, based in Chancery Lane, Central London, and online. I currently have availability for new clients.
You don't always need a 'big' reason for therapy. I can help with self-esteem, anxiety, feeling empty or stuck, relationships, intimacy/sex, family issues, imposter syndrome, and work stress.
I can help you challenge limiting self-beliefs and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others. That can include developing self-awareness, emotional communication, resilience, coping mechanisms, and ways to improve relationships that can last a lifetime.
I work with straight, gay, and bisexual men.
Getting started:
Email me to arrange a free, no obligation chat to discuss what's brought you to therapy and what you want to achieve. It’s a good opportunity to ask me any questions and see how we might work together.
Practice description
It's common for men to experience stress, anxiety, or low mood, but find it difficult to talk about what’s going on. Therapy offers space to reduce that stress and gain better understanding, and facilitate meaningful change.
I help men develop clearer self-understanding, resilience, and healthier ways of relating to others — at work, in relationships, and to themselves.
I trained at The Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading institutes for counselling and psychotherapy. Before retraining, I worked in marketing, photojournalism, and TV production, so understand the business world and importance of empowering people to find and use their voice.
I volunteered with Terrence Higgins Trust and Stonewall, and was a trustee at London Friend. I work with straight, gay, and bisexual men.
My first session
I offer a free introductory chat where we can talk about what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve.
I’ll explain how sessions are structured and what you can expect. This first chat can help you feel more at ease and clearer about starting therapy.
If you decide to go ahead, we’ll agree a regular time to meet — either in person near Chancery Lane, Central London, or online — for a weekly 50-minute session.
Email to arrange a free, no obligation chat. I’ll reply promptly, and we can schedule a time that suits you.
