About me and my therapy practice

There are many reasons why you might decide to begin therapy; anxiety, shame, burnout, self-loathing, depression, toxic cycles of behaviour, difficult childhood memories, relationship difficulties, minority stress and other many feelings can create crisis or dis-ease.

We are living in a era of great uncertainty and change, and social media creates an added pressure: that of needing to appear happy, and successful. Sometimes this too can feel overwhelming.

I work with adults on a one-to-one basis to assist you to process, respond to or engage with whatever might be preventing you from living your life to its fullest and happiest. As well as in person and online therapy, I also offer sessions walking in nature.

My training and way of working is integrative. I draw on various modalities, but in the main I am led by you. I provide a non- judgemental and confidential space separate from your family and social group, in which to explore whatever you wish to bring.

My specialisms include:

Depression and anxiety

Burn-out

Childhood abuse and neglect

Boarding School Childhood

Fertility, IVF, involuntary childlessness, miscarriage and PPD

Matrescence (the psychological birth of the mother after the physical birth of their baby)

Sibling relationships

Gender, Sex and Relationship diversity (GSRD issues)

Minority stress

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´) and adhere to their ethical principles and Code of Professional Conduct.

I am a full clinical psychotherapist member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and subscribe to its code of ethics.

I trained at the Minster Centre, one of Europe's leading integrative psychotherapy training institutions.

I hold a Diploma, Advanced Diploma and MA in Integrative Psychotherapy: Minster Centre and Middlesex University

I am a member of BICA, The Relational School, and I am a media volunteer for The Fertility Network.

Practice description

After initial contact, the first step is for us to have an initial 25 minute session. There is no fee for this and it can be online, in-person or on the phone. During this, we discuss what has brought you to this point and I will answer any questions you may have regarding beginning therapy. There is no obligation to make any commitment beyond this introductory conversation.

Should you decide to continue, we fix a time and day if the week to meet, either online, or a walk and talk session in nature.

In between this conversation and your first session, I will send you some information, a form to fill in with your contact details, and a client therapist agreement.

Walking and talking while using nature as a "co -therapist" is known as outdoor therapy or ecotherapy.  Sessions take place around Helmsley and Pickering. Visit my website for more details.

I work with clients all over the UK. Some individuals find the convenience of online sessions works for them, others choos it becasue they want to work in one of the areas in which I specialise. Contact me for my current availability.
