About me and my therapy practice

Individual Counselling

Do you feel overwhelmed by emotions, weighed down by past experiences, or struggling with self-esteem and relationships?

I offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore your challenges and begin the process of change. Together, we鈥檒l work through concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or personal growth goals. Using tailored support and evidence-based approaches, I鈥檒l help you gain insight, strengthen coping strategies, and build skills in resilience, communication, and self-awareness.

Individual counselling can support your mental health, well-being, and overall personal development.

Couples Counselling

Are you and your partner finding it difficult to communicate, feel heard, or reconnect as you once did?

Whether you鈥檙e facing issues such as infidelity, intimacy concerns, parenting stresses, cultural or religious differences, or other relationship challenges, I provide a supportive, non-judgemental space to strengthen communication and rebuild understanding.

Couples counselling offers new perspectives and helps both partners feel valued, respected, and supported鈥攊ndividually and together. At times, individual sessions may form part of the process, always with the understanding that relevant insights can be integrated into joint sessions to benefit your relationship.

Summary

I am passionate about supporting clients through life鈥檚 challenges. My aim is to foster greater self-awareness, resilience, and emotional skills, while helping you set and achieve meaningful goals. Above all, I provide a compassionate, professional space where a strong therapeutic relationship can anchor your journey of growth and change.

Practice description

About myself

I am a compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental male therapist dedicated to supporting you at your own pace.

I am an experienced 麻豆原创 accredited counsellor that works in an integrative fashion and has extensive experience working across Kent and London and who works as a counsellor for a charity specialising in providing counselling for London and Kent victims of sexual violence, rape and sexual assault.

As an integrative counsellor I draw upon a range of psychological approaches, including Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Existential methods. I also gained a Post-Graduate Diploma from UCL in Hypnosis applied to Medicine, which I can integrate into therapy if appropriate.

My breadth of experience means I don鈥檛 take a 鈥渙ne-size-fits-all鈥 approach. Instead, I tailor our sessions to suit your individual needs, your personality, and the challenges you are facing.

My Background Experience

Alongside counselling, I am a state-registered osteopath with over 40 years of clinical practice. Over the course of my career, I have worked with thousands of patients in private practice as well as in teaching, supervision, and research roles. I continue to serve as a senior clinical supervisor, lecturer, and researcher at osteopathic colleges and universities in the UK and abroad.

This extensive healthcare background has shaped my counselling in several important ways. First, it has given me a deep respect for the complexity of mind鈥揵ody interactions and how emotional wellbeing is often intertwined with physical health. Second, it has strengthened my commitment to scientific knowledge, professional standards, and patient-centred care

Finally, it has taught me the importance of meeting people where they are, listening carefully, and collaborating on solutions rather than imposing them.

Do, please, feel free to reach out for an initial free 15 minute consultation or with any questions.

My first session

1. Before your First Session

To help us begin smoothly, I will send you an onboarding email. This will include:

  • Therapeutic contract 鈥 a written agreement outlining confidentiality, session length, cancellations, and professional boundaries. It ensures we both know what to expect.
  • Medical history form 鈥 a short questionnaire to note any health conditions or treatments relevant to your wellbeing.
  • Optional psychological questionnaire 鈥 sometimes I invite clients to complete this online to give an overview of how current difficulties affect your daily life. It is not a test, but a tool that can guide our conversations.

These forms are completed in advance so that our first session can focus on you, your goals, and your story. If you have questions about any of the paperwork, we can discuss it together.

2. Your First Session

I recognise that simply walking into the first session can feel like an enormous act of courage. By doing so, you are already beginning the process of change.

It is completely normal to feel nervous before the first meeting. Many people wonder what to say, whether they will be judged, or if they will become too emotional. Please know there is no 鈥渞ight鈥 or 鈥渨rong鈥 way to begin therapy.

The first session is about getting to know one another and beginning to build trust. You will have the space to share what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve.

I understand that this first step can feel daunting, and my priority is to create a calm, supportive environment where you feel safe to talk openly.

Some clients talk freely in the first session, while others take time to find the words. Both are fine. You remain in control of what you choose to share.

3 And afterwards

After the session, it is common to feel a mix of relief and uncertainty

This is a normal part of starting therapy. Some clients decide immediately to continue, others take time to reflect before choosing their next step.

My aim is always to provide the right support for your journey.
