About me and my therapy practice
鈥淚 know why I feel this way, but nothing has changed.鈥
Do you feel stuck, even after therapy? You might understand your patterns in relationships, your past experiences, and your triggers, but it鈥檚 as though your body hasn鈥檛 caught up. Your heart races, thoughts spiral, or old pain keeps resurfacing, leaving you frustrated, exhausted, and trapped in the same cycles.
For example:
- You may know that your fear of being alone in public comes from a past trauma, but your chest still tightens when someone knocks at the door.
- Or your anger at your partner is linked to old feelings of not being seen, yet the pain still hits as strongly as ever.
- Perhaps you鈥檙e caught in loops of self-criticism, thinking 鈥淚鈥檓 unlovable鈥 or 鈥淚鈥檓 a failure鈥 even though you intellectually they're not true.
This happens when experiences are understood cognitively but haven鈥檛 fully integrated in the body or nervous system.
Deeper, Lasting Change
I combine talking therapy with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and creative approaches to help you move beyond coping and understanding into lasting change.
EMDR helps the brain process experiences that were overwhelming at the time, so unfinished memories no longer shape how you feel about yourself, relate to others, or respond to stress.
Using gentle bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping) these memories are reprocessed, losing their emotional charge.
Clients often notice that after EMDR:
- Memories or body sensations that once felt overwhelming start to feel more manageable.
- Self-criticism softens, making space for self-compassion.
- Situations that once triggered a strong emotional response feel easier to navigate.
- Greater choice, confidence, and emotional balance in daily life.
I integrate EMDR in a relational, supportive way, ensuring you feel safe, resourced, and understood throughout the process.

Practice description
I offer face-to-face sessions in a lovely, peaceful room in Gosforth, Newcastle.
If you would prefer to work online, please do let me know. I also offer online sessions via Zoom.
Ongoing Weekly Support
I usually work with clients on a weekly basis, at the same time each week. That kind of consistency helps build trust, creates a steady rhythm, and offers the support you need.
At the same time, I understand that therapy is a big financial commitment. I aim to make the work both meaningful and affordable. Some people come for a focused block of 8 to 12 sessions, while others choose to work with me in a more open-ended way 鈥 we can talk together about what feels realistic and sustainable for you.
Private Insurance
I am also a recognised psychotherapy provider for Aviva, AXA Health and WPA. If you have a policy with one of these insurers, please contact them to confirm whether your policy covers you for psychotherapy work with me.
