About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Lucy and I run Space to Talk Counselling. I understand that the quest to find the right Counsellor, can be challenging. With so many different styles of therapy, it may feel tricky to know who to choose. I would love to have a chat to see if I am the right one for you.
Are you looking to understand yourself better, make sense of your patterns and cycles and make some changes? Are you feeling overwhelmed, struggling with low mood, anxiety, feeling sad or depressed? Or maybe you’re feeling stuck, uncertain of your next move and not quite sure what you need from therapy. You may want to work through some un-resolved pain or trauma, sort through some unfinished business or to work out how to navigate something new and current. Perhaps you just need a space to offload, sort through and make sense of your thoughts and feelings? Someone to offer you a cuppa, a box of tissues and to sit and listen to you?
I believe that how we feel is a reflection of the pain, trauma and difficulties we have experienced. Counselling can offer you a space to tell your story, to make sense of your experiences and begin to process life’s challenges. I offer a Humanistic Gestalt approach, viewing you as an individual, unique and at the centre of your own therapy. Understanding and self-awareness is the first step in growth, change and moving forward.
I work from a purpose built cabin in my garden, with private access, in central Eastleigh. I see clients both online and face-to-face.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer both online and in person therapy and work from a private cabin in my garden. The cabin is accessed down the side of the property not through the house and there is plenty of parking.
I support clients with anxiety and offer open ended therapy, which means that we can work together for as long as feels helpful. I see clients on a weekly basis, although fortnightly can be discussed and offer the same session each week, with some flexbility where permitted.
Practice description
I work with anxiety and I am so passionate about working with clients who are looking to understand and make sense of their anxiety. I'm have a very relaxed way of working, I want to get to know you and your experience of anxiety, as everyone is different.
We aren't born anxious and so understanding the root of your anxiety is key to managing it. I help clients to get to know and to view their anxiety differently and to therefore feel more in control of it. I have written an eBook called "Your Anxiety Toolbox" and this offers tips, tools and strategies to help manage the sympoms of anxiety.
People often tackle anxiety by fighting against it and this can just exaberate the problem. It's important to get to know your anxiety and understand what it is traying to teach you.
Whether anxiety is quite new to you or it is something you have struggled with for years, I would love to have a chat about working together.
My first session

This initial session if the full 50 minutes so we have a chance to begin getting to know each other and you can get a feel for me and the therapy space.
I offer all clients a hot drink during their sessions and I also have water available and plenty of tissues on hand.
