About me and my therapy practice
I have many years experience working with clients who feel they've lost themselves, suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, chronic illness, ADHD/ASD or trauma and finding it overwhelming and difficult to cope with everyday life. Whether you are impacted by recent problems or long-term struggles, I will support you at your pace on the symptoms that are causing you pain and distress.
It takes strength to remember you deserve more, when our brains are fighting against us and telling us untruths, and you certainly don't have to suffer alone.
I pride myself on being a friendly, professional, understanding Counsellor and I provide a safe, comfortable, confidential, and non-judgemental space for you to explore issues that may be holding you back from living life to the full.
The majority of my work with clients involves work around anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, people pleasing, boundary setting, self worth, ADHD/ASD and relationship issues. I have experience working with Blue light services. About me and my therapy practice
I am passionate about counselling and I love helping counsellors achieve their goals whilst gaining confidence and trust in their practice.
In supervision we will work collaboratively to enhance your client work, skills, and personal development.
A little about me... I qualified as a Person centred counsellor in 2020 and since then I have trained in CBT, Adult trauma, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and Supervision. I was employed by RASA Merseyside, (Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre) for 6 years and have been counselling blue light personnel since 2022. I have held a private practice for 4 years, counselling clients with a variety of all life's issues. Recently I have gained a contract to facilitate a support group for those living with secondary breast cancer in Liverpool. I am also mentored by The Health Psychologist, Dr Sula Windgassen on the mind body connection in relation to people experiencing chronic illness. Therefore I have lots of experience working with people from all walks of life on differing topics.
Practice description
Supervision with me will provide a safe and confidential space for you to discuss all aspects of your practice and anything that might impact it. It is an opportunity for you to receive support to feel confident in your practice and feel encouraged in the work you are doing.
Counselling theory and ethical framework will be a foundation of our work, so that you are efficient and proficient in the support you are providing to clients. I will ensure that your wellbeing and goals are considered with high regard during your time working with me. I will use my experience to share best practice and challenge where this is needed, all in support of your clients and your own best interest.
My first session
During the first session we will collaboratively complete an assessment. This will help me understand where you are in your counselling practice and where you want to grow and develop. This will give you the opportunity to present your skills and consider your goals. The assessment will also provide us with an opportunity to get to know each other and how we will work together to achieve the best possible growth and outcomes for you and your clients needs.
