About me and my therapy practice
We all experience emotional challenges at different stages of our lives. As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I provide a safe, supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in relation to your life experiences.
I work in a non-judgemental and empathetic way, listening carefully to understand what is troubling you. Whether you are seeking support with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or healing from past experiences, I work alongside you with compassion and kindness. Together, we create a nurturing environment where you can grow and make the changes you feel are right for you. I believe that we all have the inner resources to reach our potential when given the right support and conditions.
I have extensive experience working therapeutically in both the voluntary and private sectors, particularly with addiction and trauma in the Bradford and West Yorkshire area. While I specialise in these areas, I also have many years of experience supporting clients with a wide range of mental and emotional difficulties.
Sessions are held in a peaceful, therapeutic counselling room in Saltaire, with free parking nearby and convenient access via main bus routes from Bradford City Centre.
Practice description
I offer face-to-face counselling in a peaceful, private therapy room (first floor) in Saltaire, West Yorkshire. I also work online via Zoom, WhatsApp and FaceTime, offering flexibility to access support in a way that feels most comfortable for you.
At the centre of my work is the belief that being truly heard and understood can be deeply healing. My approach is humanistic, which means I see you as the expert in your own life. I aim to offer a warm, genuine and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever you are carrying, at a pace that feels safe for you.
I gently integrate mindfulness into our work where helpful, supporting you to build awareness of your thoughts, feelings and bodily responses. This can be especially grounding when working with anxiety, trauma or addictive patterns, helping you feel more connected and in control.
I have over 15 years experience working with trauma and addiction, and I understand how these experiences can shape the way you see yourself, others and the world. My intention is to work alongside you with sensitivity and care, helping you make sense of your experiences and move towards greater self-compassion and understanding.
My first session
In our first session we will get a chance to meet and explore your reasons for seeking therapy, this session will help us to understand how we might work together.
Our first session is also an opportunity for you to share, in a confidential and non judgemental space as much as you feel comfortable.
One of the main aims of the first session is for you to establish if you feel I am the right therapist for you and if so we can agree a way of working together in supporting you to identify your desired outcomes for therapy and frequency and timing of our future appointments together.
I do offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation before booking the first appointment.
