About me and my therapy practice
A Safe, Compassionate Space for Healing and Growth
My approach is confidential, compassionate, and non-judgmental. In our first sessions, we’ll focus on building trust and understanding what’s happening for you, creating a safe space where real change and healing can begin.
I specialise in supporting adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, or the effects of trauma. Life’s challenges can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves and others. Together, we’ll explore these feelings with care and curiosity, helping you find new ways to cope and reconnect with your sense of self.
My work is person-centred and integrative, drawing on different approaches to suit your individual needs. This might include talking therapy, creative exploration, or mindfulness-based techniques ,always at a pace that feels right for you.
As an EMDR practitioner, I also offer trauma-focused therapy to help reduce distress, build resilience, and restore a sense of calm and control. EMDR can be particularly effective for those who feel affected by past experiences, anxiety, or recurring negative thoughts.
My therapy room is designed to feel calm and welcoming , a safe, private space where you can talk openly and begin to rediscover balance and confidence.
At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow. Together, we’ll explore your strengths, build coping strategies, and create lasting positive change , helping you move toward a more peaceful, fulfilling life.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to arrange an initial session. There’s no pressure , just a warm invitation to take the first step toward feeling better.

What You Can Expect From Me
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my approach.
In January 2020, I achieved a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Preston’s College — a milestone that deepened my passion for supporting others.
My path into counselling began later in life and was shaped by many years of caring for others. I first qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1995 and as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1999. I also hold a degree in Health Studies. This background allows me to understand and support each person as a whole — both emotionally and physically.
I am also a certified EMDR Practitioner, specialising in working with children and adolescents. This advanced training helps me support younger clients in processing difficult experiences through gentle, creative approaches.
My main focus is on mental health, helping individuals manage and overcome challenges such as anxiety, panic attacks, and self-harm. I understand how overwhelming these struggles can feel, and my role is to walk alongside you with compassion and care.
When you work with me, you can expect:
✅ A safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly.
✅ A compassionate, patient approach — we move at a pace that feels right for you.
✅ Support tailored to your unique needs, goals, and strengths.
✅ A focus on empowerment and resilience, helping you discover your inner strength.
✅ Specialist trauma-informed care, including EMDR, to help you or your child feel safe and understood.
Counselling is a powerful tool for improving mental health and wellbeing. Whether you’re facing anxiety, feeling stuck, or simply wanting space to grow, I truly believe in the positive change it can bring.
My promise is to support and encourage you every step of the way, helping you find greater peace and clarity.
If this resonates with you, I warmly invite you to reach out. It would be an honour to be part of your journey.
My first session
What You Can Expect From Me
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me and how I work.
My journey into counselling began later in life, shaped by years of caring for others and witnessing how deeply our emotional wellbeing affects every part of who we are. Before becoming a counsellor, I trained and worked as both a Registered General Nurse (since 1995) and a Registered Mental Health Nurse (since 1999). I also hold a degree in Health Studies, which helps me understand people not just emotionally, but physically too.
In January 2020, I completed my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Preston’s College, which marked the start of a new chapter in my work: supporting others through therapy in a more personal and emotionally focused way.
Alongside my counselling work, I’m also a qualified EMDR practitioner. While I have specialist training in supporting children and adolescents, I also use EMDR to help adults process past experiences and find relief from anxiety, trauma, or low self-esteem.
My main focus is mental health, helping people navigate challenges like anxiety, panic, low mood, or feeling lost and disconnected. I know how heavy life can sometimes feel, and I aim to offer a calm, safe space where you can simply be yourself, without pressure or judgment.
I deliver
🌿 A safe, private space where you can speak openly and feel heard.
🌿 Compassion and patience ,we go at your pace, never rushed.
🌿 Support that’s personal to you, shaped around your needs and goals.
🌿 Encouragement and empowerment, helping you reconnect with your inner strength.
🌿 EMDR, to help you feel safe, grounded, and in control.
I truly believe counselling can be life-changing ,a chance to pause, reflect, and begin to see yourself and your experiences differently.
If any of this resonates with you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you begin your journey toward healing, clarity, and peace.

My welcoming practice is open for appointments Monday through Saturday, from 9 am to 6 pm. I offer both in-person and online sessions, and I aim to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your professional needs.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I have a strong passion for providing supervision to counsellors and therapists at all stages of their careers. I offer a warm, grounded, and reflective supervisory space where you can explore your client work, deepen your clinical thinking, and strengthen your professional identity. My approach is collaborative and supportive, encouraging open discussion, ethical awareness, and ongoing growth.
As an EMDR practitioner, I also welcome supervisees who wish to develop their skills in EMDR with adults, children, and adolescents. I bring experience in adapting EMDR creatively for younger clients using play, drawing, and storytelling, helping you gain confidence in integrating trauma-informed practice into your work.
I additionally offer supervision for those incorporating creative and experiential methods into their practice. This includes sand tray therapy, which provides a powerful, hands-on way of helping clients explore complex emotions without relying solely on words. I am happy to support supervisees who wish to expand their use of sand tray work or other expressive approaches.
Whether you are seeking regular supervision, specialist EMDR guidance, or a reflective space to develop your therapeutic style, I would be delighted to work with you.
Please feel free to get in touch to discuss supervision or to explore whether we are a good fit. I warmly invite you to reach out and begin this professional journey together.

Practice description
As a counselling supervisor, I am dedicated to creating a warm, supportive, and reflective space where you can explore your professional practice with openness and confidence. My approach is grounded in trust, empathy, and mutual respect — offering you a safe environment to think, question, and grow as a practitioner.
Drawing on over 25 years of experience in mental health, I bring a broad and compassionate understanding of the challenges counsellors face in their work. My background includes qualifications as a Registered General Nurse, Registered Mental Health Nurse, a degree in Health Studies, a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and specialist training as an EMDR practitioner. This diverse experience enables me to support supervisees from a wide range of modalities and professional backgrounds.
In supervision, we will work collaboratively to reflect on your client work, celebrate your strengths, and address any areas of uncertainty or challenge. I aim to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback while encouraging your autonomy and self-awareness. Together, we can explore complex cases, ethical considerations, theoretical ideas, and the personal impact of your therapeutic work.
I also bring experience in EMDR and creative approaches such as sand tray therapy, which can enrich our supervision if you are interested in developing your skills in these areas.
Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, supervision with me offers a nurturing and professional space to deepen your confidence, enhance your practice, and sustain your wellbeing as a therapist.
If you’re looking for a supervisor who offers warmth, experience, and genuine collaboration, I warmly invite you to get in touch. It would be a privilege to support you on your professional journey.
My first session
In our first supervision session, my priority is to create a warm, welcoming space where you feel safe, supported, and able to talk openly about your work. This initial meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, explore your professional background and needs, and see if we feel like a good supervisory fit.
During this time, we will talk about what you would like to gain from supervision, the type of support you are seeking, and any particular areas you wish to focus on such as client work, ethical considerations, theoretical understanding, or professional development.
There is no pressure to have everything figured out beforehand. I believe in starting with a genuine, person-centred conversation that allows us to build trust and shape the supervision process around your goals and learning style.
We can also use the first session to agree on practical details such as session frequency, preferred format (in-person or online), and how we will work together to ensure supervision feels safe, constructive, and reflective.
My supervision room in Burnley is calm and comfortable, designed to support open dialogue and reflection. If you prefer, online supervision is also available, offering flexibility and convenience.
Overall, the first session is your space to begin feeling heard, valued, and supported as a practitioner. It is a time to explore what you hope to achieve through supervision and to start building a collaborative relationship that encourages both confidence and growth.
If you have any questions before booking your first supervision session, please feel free to get in touch. I warmly invite you to reach out whenever you feel ready to begin.
