About me and my therapy practice

I have considerable experience and training in working therapeutically with both adults and children/young people. I run a social enterprise, working with trauma, anxiety, depression,  ADHD/ASD/neurodivergence, loss, relationship struggles, sleep difficulties, low self-esteem, chronic health difficulties, emotional/behavioral difficulties. I work online and in-person.

I enjoy working relationally and experientially with adults to support healing and resilience, utilising Accelerated Experiential Dyadic Psychotherapy (AEDP, Level 2), and DBT skills (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Level 2). I augment my therapeutic offerings with Neurofeedback and the Safe and Sound Protocol?Rest and Restore Protocol, working non-verbally at a brain and nervous-system level to support regulation and resilience. I run AEDP-with-DBT groups for adults, to support a healing path towards regulation and resilience. I am trained in CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality).

I work with people across the life-span, and endorse a family therapy model (eg supporting both parent and child therapeutically- building connection, attachment, and healing intergenerational patterns, stress, anxiety, and trauma). I am a specialist in working with fostered/adoptive families and residentials, whilst also enjoying work with adults and families from all backgrounds and walks of life. I am certified in family therapy models: Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Theraplay, Therapeutic Life Story Work (TLSW), and the BUSS Model (Building Under Developed Sensory-Motor Systems). A large focus of my work is therapeutically supporting parents - I offer DDP, Circle of Security, and Hand in Hand parenting models- both individually and in groups.

I am also a trained play therapist, supporting children with neurodivergence, anxiety, bereavement, anger, and trauma.

I work with alot of heart and compassion, and am committed to the individuals and communities with whom I work.

About me and my therapy practice

As a Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) supervisor, I offer expert guidance, skill development, and a safe space for therapists to implement DDP principles, focusing on building secure parent-child attachments through the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) model, reviewing therapy tapes, and helping clients understand past trauma to foster emotional health and better relationships, with the ultimate goal of creating a safe network for traumatized children.

I am currently studying on the DDP Practicum to become a DDPI-approved Consultant; supporting clinicians, parents and professionals (including educational, social work and residential staff):

PACE Modelling: Demonstrate and teach the PACE attitude (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to help children feel safe, understood, and regulated.

Trauma-Informed Insight: Guide caregivers and therapists in understanding the link between a child's past trauma and current behaviors, helping them make sense of the child's emotional world.

Tape Review: Facilitate the review of therapy or interaction videos, focusing on specific DDP skills.

Attachment-Focused Support: Help parents and professionals build secure, trusting relationships with children, essential for healing and development.

Consultation & Collaboration: Work with networks (schools, social workers, foster parents) to create a unified, supportive environment for the child.

Certification Pathway: For eligible individuals, provide supervision for the DDP Practitioner Practicum with Consultants guiding towards certification.

Practice description

As a Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT) Supervisor, I offer deep expertise in nervous system regulation, brain-based approaches, and creating safety, enabling me to guide therapists in integrating core SPT tenets like right-brain attunement, interoceptive awareness, and managing transference/countertransference, fostering supervisee growth, ethical practice, cultural humility, and transformative client healing by supporting them to become external regulators and understand the "why" behind a child's behavior, ultimately helping them facilitate deep, effective change. Development: Help supervisees gain confidence in applying DDP principles, improving their ability to create attuned and responsive caregiving/therapeutic environments:

System Regulation: Teach how to use play to help children self-regulate, integrate experiences, and re-pattern their nervous systems, transforming behaviors like acting out or withdrawal into well-being.

Brain-Based Interventions: Guide therapists in creating a "neuroception of safety," using dual-attention/awareness, and understanding how brain development links to symptoms.

Deepening Therapeutic Process: Help therapists turn transference and countertransference from obstacles into tools for deeper work.

Ethical & Cultural Competence: Model and teach ethical boundary setting, cultural humility, and managing complex situations like dual relationships.

Authentic & Relational Supervision: Provide a strong, trusting supervisory relationship, using reflective practice to foster both professional and personal growth.

Playroom Mastery: Teach how to use elements like sand, art, and even play with non-traditional "toys" (like the therapist's presence) to facilitate healing.

Caregiver Collaboration: Support therapists in building strong relationships with parents and helping them understand the meaning behind their child's behaviors.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a DDPI- approved PACE trainer:

https://ddpnetwork.org/professionals/training/ddp-pace-training/

Practice description

DDP PACE training will help you to understand the impact of developmental trauma and the challenges that children with this experience can struggle with, including the impact on nervous system regulation.

It introduces how the experience of PACE within a DDP-informed approach can start to help these children to recover trust and safety.

It also explores PACE as a way of being with adults of all ages to provide a secure foundation for relationships to grow and thrive.

Drawing on their capacity for regulation and reflection, DDP PACE helps adults who support children to emotionally connect with them in ways which increase feelings of safety and trust.

PACE stands for playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy. It was created by Dr. Dan Hughes, the founder of DDPI and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), as a core aspect of DDP. PACE is central to DDP-informed parenting and teaching.

DDP PACE training is open to everyone. It is suitable for all adults caring for, or working with children who have experienced relational trauma. This can include adoptive parents, foster carers, kinship carers, residential workers, education practitioners, and support workers for example.
