Availability
If you are seeking online therapy then I am available Monday to Friday including evenings sessions.
If you are seeking in-person therapy I offer this in Ilkley.
Availability can change from week to week so it is always worth giving me call to discuss options and availability.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a person centred therapist which means I believe that with the right support and therapeutic environment you can make the changes you need and find the answers you need that are right for you.
What is fundamental for you, is that you find someone who you can work with, feel comfortable and safe with, and trust that they will always put you at the centre of the therapeutic process. With that in mind, I offer a safe and non-judgemental space, significant experience, confidentiality and high ethical standards.
I specialise in working with clients who are experiencing difficulties in relationships (personal or work), recovering from the breakdown of a relationship or a bereavement, or have suffered trauma/ abuse in their personal/familial relationships. I also work with clients who have experienced coercive and controlling behaviour, helping them regain their sense of self and identity.
In addition to the above I work with clients who are looking to address issues of anxiety, low self-esteem, work related stress and or potential burnout.
Prior to qualifying as a therapist I was a family law solicitor for 25 years, working with clients who were going through the trauma of relationship breakdown and in many cases had suffered domestic abuse. I continue to work as an Accredited Family Mediator and Conflict Coach. The experience I have from these roles has given me additional skills to that of my therapist training in terms of working with and understanding people, navigating challenging situations and adhering to and maintaining the highest level of professional standards.
Practice description
I offer online therapy via Zoom or MS Teams but if you would like to work in-person then I offer this in Ilkley.I offer an empathic, non-judgemental and safe space in which we can explore how you are feeling, what has happened to you to give rise to those feelings and help you move beyond those challenges to achieve your true potential.
My first session
We will firstly have a brief chat on the telephone in order to find a time for your assessment session that works for you.
Your assessment session will last for one hour and will be divided into two parts. It can take place online, or depending on where you are located it can be in person.
The first part of the session is for me to obtain some information from you. I will ask you some questions about you, your recent history, your support network if you have one and what you hope to achieve from your therapy sessions. This helps me identify how I might be able to assist you best and what work we could do together that would be most beneficial to you.
The second part of the session is for you. You will have the space and time to tell me about the circumstances that have led you to seek counselling and the challenging events you have faced and in that time we will begin to identify what areas of your life you may like to explore with me in future sessions moving forward.
The purpose of this first session is for us to meet each other and for us to mutually assess whether we both think that working together will be beneficial and transformative for you.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer a safe and congruent space in which you can explore how you can enhance the work you undertake with your clients.
